Wasn't talking about MarkDon’t consider it name calling when it fits. That was a petty move by Mark, taking his ball and bat to go home so nobody can play.

I fully believe he is taking the DeBoer approach. Head Coach in NHL or nothing. I don't see him jumping ship to an AHL position.Rangers and Jussi are in talks about a extension per JB

I agree with you.Meaning, he could be here for another four or five years.
Lock him up to a five year extension. Pay him such that only an NHL head coaching gig of his choice has him moving on.
By the time DeBoer left here, he had multiple head coaching offers. Staying at this level as long as he did got him not only an NHL head coaching offer, but put him in a place where he became ‘in demand”.
My only fear with extending too long is that we risk losing our assistants. They were brought in here as a succession plan and Jussi speaks highly of them. If we close the ligh5 at the end of the tunnel for them , do we risk losing them? Even if we extend 5 years, Jussi will have an out clause, and if we don’t have our backups in place, we may be left high and dry. MM is not the answer at that point in time.I agree with you.
I believe it was JB said earlier that in the last off season he had pro offers. Sounded like he chose to honour part of the contract even though there was an out.
My hope is that he wants to see what he built through and go for a Mem Cup with this core age group.
We all know how good he is and its only a matter of time before he moves on up.
I would think it would just be a 2 year extension if agreed upon. That's the Mem Cup target for this core anyways. My only fear with extending too long is that we risk losing our assistants. So maybe a shorter extension to keep that light on?
I would think whatever the length of the extension, Jussi would be free to leave whenever the right opportunity arises.I would think it would just be a 2 year extension if agreed upon. That's the Mem Cup target for this core anyways.
With Jeff Kyrzakos also having the Assistant GM title too, this gives him a pay bump and more responsibilities that I would think he would stick around. I could see him taking the reigns when Ahokas moves on up.
With Flynn...you may be right.
Well, despite offers to head coach elsewhere in the league, Steve Spott turned down those offers to stay here to assist DeBoer. Surely paid more money here as the assistant, and it paid off with him getting the head coaching gig here once DeBoer moved on.My only fear with extending too long is that we risk losing our assistants. Oh yes, for sure, Šalé would be a great addition, he knows the coach, he knows the players, one year older with pro experience, he would be bringing the needed boost the Rangers needs. What are the chances he comes back ?Eight days left to add to the roster. (Feb 15).
Sale, I believe, would be the only possibility.
16 F’s on the Coachella Valley roster. Sale last played on Feb 1st. 3 points in his last 18 games. With 16 F’s on the roster, hopefully they see sending him back to the OHL makes good sense for his development.

Kinda feels more likely as the weeks go by. If they want him to play, surely top minutes in Kitchener would be ideal for his development.Oh yes, for sure, Šalé would be a great addition, he knows the coach, he knows the players, one year older with pro experience, he would be bringing the needed boost the Rangers needs.
