Late to the party here but great win by the boys.

One thing I keep hearing London fans say is that it wasnt their best effort...sure thats what it look like too. Dickinson didnt have a good game at all....ya he looked frustrated alot of the time.

But I think both of those things have more to do with Jussi system, how the players bought in, reducing the time and space and the home ice advantage. London players didnt have the lanes and space to make all the plays. You could see at times when we were hemmed in our own zone that they still were kept to the outside for the most part and the cross ice lanes were blocked except for the goals. Jussi should have gotten the Matt Leyden trophy last year and I think again this year if he doesnt get it, something is seriously wrong.

If we play each other in the playoffs, I think home ice and Parsons play will be deciding factors on which way the ice will tilt. Still say we may be the underdogs but in a seven game series, I wouldnt count us out with Jussi and a healthy Parsons.

Just a question for you all and yes I'm being petty. On the Sim goal in which Cowen extends his streak why does the touch by Julien on the pass across not count towards the scoring summary. I might not understand the rules correctly but shouldn't it be Sim from Woolley and Julien and I can celebrate The Rangers ending the Cowen streak on top of beating the Knights.

From my first viewing I didn't think it touched his stick but after I slowed the video down to 0.5 it does look like the stick slightly moved but I don't know if that's from the puck or not.

So, I wasn't able to watch the game and went to the OHL site to watch the hi lites. Gotta say it was one of the better reels I have seen on the site. They showed tons of saves by both goalies and really provided good tape on what happened. I say this cause normally you get the goals and that's it.

OHL is doing better in general with their marketing and content. It used to be every game got 2min exactly for a highlight reel, no matter how many goals or big saves happened.

If he touched it, and it appears he did, then the assist should be his, not Cowan's. The trouble is, it's not 100% conclusive and the player will deny touching it to preserve his teammate's streak. So it's probably moot unless the league really wants to be accurate.

Yup, remember how the net fiasco went last year in the playoffs. Knights got benefit of the doubt there too.

As well as how much Ando's reputation earned him that unsportsmanlike for the snow shower, Sim's reputation should have earned him a major call on the ice and a review for the blindside. I would have been fine with 2 or 5 (borderline for either), but it definitely warranted a look at the video.
Sims is a cheap shot artist. One day he'll face the consequences either from the league or on ice justice.

Reactions: East Avenue Bully
We spend all year wringing our hands over the Knights, we get a very good win and everyone is mad at Ando. He's going to have those kind of games, everyone who plays on the edge like him does. It's something I accept because the positive outweighs the negative on the whole over the course of a season.

As our captain, he too often seems to play with his own agenda and forget the impact he might have, negatively on the game. Easy example is taking a dumb roughing penalty 100 seconds into the game. If the best power play in the game beats our PK, we are down the rabbit hole and may never get out. As a veteran, would like to see a better thought process before he acts.
On another topic, many, including myself have been concerned about overplaying Parsons. If you look at the stats, there is one goalie who has played more games at 38, a couple more tied with him at 36 and a handful just behind them at 35. So maybe we shouldn’t be worried about burnout?

In 23-24 there were 7 goalies that played 50+ games including 1 that played 60.
In 22-23 there was only 1 goalie who played 50+.
in 21-22 there was 5 goalies that played 50+ games including 1 that played 60.
With Schauble already having played 9 games and with parsons more than likely not going to play every single game down the stretch (although I guess he could but that would be crazy and unnecessary unless we somehow catch the Knights and we need the points). It would be hard for him to reach the 60 game mark but he will probably become one of the most played goalies this year. At this moment there are 5 goalies that have played 34 or more games so they will all probably reach 50 and it will be in line with other seasons.

I agree not a good effort, but at the same time Kitchener deserves to win. The play style took London out of the game early. The strategy worked and the players outworkwd the Knights players. We aren’t taking anything away from the Rangers being the better team.
