Given that Nordh is the only impact import available (from what I can see) and there are multiple teams with open slots (Niagara, Sudbury, Kitchener, Saginaw), I think it could be a fairly robust market.

That's my wishful thinking anyways 🤣
….and teams without an open slot may want to upgrade on an import they have.

If that Sudbury pick is from the Hage trade, we can’t move it as it’s conditional.
Forgot about that, thanks.

Be great to hear those Storm tv donks call the game. They spend all there time talking about the players skill while the play is going on. The one is a real drama queen if they bump a Storm player.😂
When the Rangers were there last and won in overtime he couldn't even call the end of it properly cause he thought Reid was going to run it in a players face instead of going to the fans lmao.

Maybe this game will make MM rethink his strategy? Sorry to any Storm fans out there, but if this team is a contender…this game is a cakewalk.
I think it’s a glass half full look here. Struggled to get the 2 points today, however if I told you coming out of the Christmas break they were playing 5 games in 8 days, 4 on the road and 2 of those northern road trip and they would come out of it with 10 out of a possible 10 points, I think that’s pretty impressive.

I wonder how MM is approaching this deadline. Already stated he isn’t selling vets. It’s out there from multiple sources that he’s buying. But I have to assume he’ll approach the deadline with both the present and future in mind (Mark Hunter quote I believe).

So I see him making a move or two the way he did last year rather than the year previous.

He’s been kicking tires on Pinelli - a rental. But I can see him doing the type of deal where the incoming player(s) will help this team this year and next.

He could package up a couple excess 07’s with value plus mid round picks to bring in a couple 05’s who would be good OA candidates or an 05 and an 06 who’d be back next year.

What about a package where 06D Bedkowski and 05F McCue came our way? Send a couple excess 07’s plus a few mid round picks. Something similar to the Sale Savard deal last year but this time around, we’d be sending higher quality kids the other way.

That is the upside. The downside is we let a team back in it that hasn’t one yet this season when trailing after one period.
Please sell.

My first choice is sell but I don’t see MM doing that as he loves getting to the 2nd or 3rd round in the playoffs.

1. Sell.
2. Soft buy. Look for some crazy good deals last minute.
3. Stand pat
4. Go after big names and lose Headrick or 2nds.

1 and 2 can be done at same time.

Regardless of who owns the team be it a community or private they are still running a business. Most here really want the team to garner more picks and keep going with the plan to develop the young skilled talent. Does the play off revenue factor in to the immediate plans at this deadline? Guess we find out this week.

That’s my point though, most here want to garner more picks and keep going with the 2027 plan, myself included. We have what, 20-30 consistent posters with a handful of people that read occasionally?

The Rangers average 6500 attendees per game. How many of those do you think would be happy to see us sell off our vets while we’re in 2nd place? The community uproar outweighs the armchair GMs and that’s what’s a community team considers when running a business.

Just need to consider an alternative perspective every now and then, that’s all.

In the pre Covid days, I was told by an owner of one of the teams that their break even was 2,500 fans per game and 2 playoff dates. With far above 2,500 per game,we should be thinking about banners, not the bottom line.
