At least the Vikings only locked themselves into one more year of mediocrity rather than the rumoured multi-year deal Kirk might've wanted. Regardless, this takes a lot of the excitement away from a potential Kwesi/KOC led rebuild.

Chase Daniel made somewhere around $35 million as a backup. As long as you are aren't half bad, you can make bank even if you ride the bench.

And what is craziest about Daniels is that he has just 5 nfl starts in his career of his 70 GP (mop up duty or injury). 1700 yards passing on 261 attempts. Yet has managed to make like $3 mill per year.

McCoy has 33 starts of his 52 GP. Around 7200 passing yards yet has made $15 mill. Close in age.

Like how does Daniels earn twice what McCoy got yet has 28 fewer career starts? Like the Eagles and bears combined for 3 years kid him a total of $17 mill. And he made another $9-$10 mill in KC. Only with NO did he made like $4 mill in 5 seasons. Incredible.

Gawd. My Vikings will be stuck in perpetual mediocrity with this guy at the helm. Then again, maybe the new coach and GM can make a difference.
Anyways, he is probably somewhere around 15th or so best QB in the league. QB rating last year was 15th among starters.

Not a big fan of this. I wanted them to trade him and then burn it down and start over. At least it's only one extra year and this years QB class stinks. But they still have sieves at 2 OL positions, an aging defense and literally zero CBs. And they still need to clear another 2m or so to be under the cap.

KOC probably thinks he can 'fix' Kirk, but he can't. The problem isn't the talent or scheme with him. It's the personality.
