We traded from a position of strength and filled a need. I just hope Dach pans out because Romanov was a solid 2nd pairing dman.

Do you even know who's going to be going at 13th in a few minutes from now? I'm going to assume no.

In a vacuum, it's Romanov + 2nd + 4th for Dach.
I'm sad to lose Romanov.....I loved his style, my replacement for Emelin......

Will give Dach a chance....kid is 21....this can be the year where he takes off....we'll see

Feels like the Griffin Reinhart trade
could be the Bertuzzi trade also......

the irony of posters shitting on Timmins for selecting Romanov, and then shitting on the ORG. for trading a player they shat on for a 6'4 C that's formally a 3rd overall....in 2019

Posters want swing for the fence's....??......well here it is

Dach looked like a future stud in the Covid bubble. Then I believe he hurt his wrist and it's been ugly since. He's pass first to a fault though. He has the size but doesn't use it to punish anyone.

Any excuse is good for a nice bowel movement. I get it.

I'm not a fan of this trade. I was thrilled to have Guhle and Romanov on the left side. Both of them would have been hard to play against. I guess the upcoming defensemen are good enough to make Romanov dispensable.

For Dach, time will tell if he can find a second gear. I was under the impression that he had the opportunity to have offensive role in Chicago. 26 pts in 70 games is worrying. However, we do get bigger. Maybe a new environment is all he needs.

In the end, I respect Hugues. He takes a lot of risk. Next season will be interesting despite a predicable poor performance of the team.

Teravainen also traded at 21 if I recall. Didn't look like he'd break in the way he did.

I understand if people are unhappy trading good assets for a struggling young player, but he played for a garbage coach on a garbage team last year and missed most of the already shortened season before to injury. He still has a tonne of potential and is worth a buy low opportunity.
Except they paid high.

Swing for the fences, sure, but at least pick your pitch right.

I get what you're saying though

We basically got Dach for nothing. Romanov was good, but he was incredibly expendable with the prospects we have. In the rebuild-for-a-contending-window timeline, I'd much rather gamble on Dach than keeping Romanov.
