Player Discussion Kirby Dach: Welcome to Montreal part 2

Well, I wouldn't think about scratching unless there is an effort issue. I don't watch day to day like I used to so I can't comment too much if that's the case.

But if that's an issue and he is scratched, why is it assumed that it definitely won't help? For starters, it might be a wake up call that he needs. Secondly, it send a message to the rest of the club that a consistent effort is non negotiable.

The other thing to consider is dach's personality. Good coaches are good managers of people and know which buttons to push in order to get the most out of them, and the buttons will be different for each player. Whether those buttons for dach include a scratch when he's not performing, I would need to know as a human being alot better than I do now.

The team and the coach from the inside knows better than we do. And we don't know if there is a personal reason too. From the outside we scratch our heads not understanding.

I can't beleive the amount of writing and pages for Dach. He's taking way too much time to recover mentally and come back in better physical and psychological condition. And everybody here discuss about him like if it was an emergency. First of all, hockey is an entertainment, secondly Dach is an human with his weakness so we can't expect him to get back to his better hockey by magic. He's not a robot with a switch that can be turned on.

The only think to be done is patience. Wait and wait. Wait that he become a better player or wait that he is traded. Sure he can be demoted to the 4th line or sit in the press box a few games but what's the point? You guys think it will work like magic? No it won't. It will be just spending time, a distraction for a few days.

He's just lucky to actually have the chance and patience from management. There is no one to coming in and replace him right now. Once Demidov arrives, there will be no more room for him in the top6 unless he picks up his play dramatically.

I hope I'm wrong but I'm a non believer.

Yep. Evans is playing well because he’s where he’s supposed to be.

My question is rhetorical. The answer is we don’t have a legit replacement there. We tried Evans with Caufield and it was a waste of time.

I just think putting Evans into the wrong chair is only creating more problems than it solves.

Except Laine has very good chemistry with similar players, judging by CLB, he played well with Sillinger, Danforth, Olivier, Liam Foudy, Riley Nash. Obviously his play was affected by injuries but the chemistry was evident. If he can move his feet, it wouldn't be a problem.

I get your point and I agree with you but I wouldn't include Matheson and Gally.

Transition year... it's a terrible message to send to the team coddling a player by giving him a spot he doesn't deserve.

Dach is struggling, and that's an understatement.........................that said, his team mates saw his commitment last year to rehabbing his knee. His day in day out hard work.....his team mates love the guy for his dedication to his job! He put in the work, and travelled with the team the moment he could....
The team and the organization know how hard he worked. Yes, he is struggling, but let's give the kid the credit he is due.

His day in day out hard work.....his team mates love the guy for his dedication to his job! He put in the work, and travelled with the team the moment he could....

At the end of the day he is going to need to show some progress soon, this can't continue.

We have been a horrible hockey team for 7 years now....................the new guys are in year 3.

It takes time, fixing the clown's work We no longer have a CP31 to lean on. Next year there will be an upturn in standards, and performance.

Yes, the Bruins will move on from anyone (Thornton, Kessell, Seguin, Hamilton....). If someone isn't falling in line with the group, they move on from the player. It's about the crest on the sweater, not the name on the back and sadly believe the Habs have gotten away from that.

To make matters worse, Montreal Canadiens fans have reason to be frustrated as they watch the progression of Frank Nazar, selected by the Blackhawks with the first-round pick given up in the Kirby Dach trade.

Still just 20 years old, the 13th overall pick in 2022 has shown impressive progress in the American League this season.

It is the world we live in, through social media we have become programed for instant gratification. There is no patience, no empathy, just shouts for "right now". I would guess half these posters would lose there shit over a messed up order prepared by a teen at a drive through, a sad world we have become through the training of our minds. As if Dach is the problem that is holding us back from being a contender, we are not even close yet folks, it takes time and patience. We were fawning over management a few short months ago, now it's toxic. Replace coach, management whatever, so long as the number one criteria is what they speak and we are getting them from less than 5% of the pool it won't be good. In my mind management has been better than decent, we need patience.

Some things will need to change in this team. For this year I repeat there is nothing to do else than wait. But there is a change of culture that need to be implement. I wish the Habs would be like the Knights or the Bruins. Sadly Habs are tied with anchor contracts, players that are litterally unmoveable. Next summer Dvo and Armia will be gone. Demidov will come and I hope a real centerman will be signed ufa.

Wouldn't that be a good indicator for being patient ? Post draft, Nazar had season ending surgery while Dach was slowly establishing himself as a top 6, and then came out as the standout next training camp. Nobody was whining then.

They need quality vets, those two are a couple of years away. This team needs better quality vets and especially ones that have size and grit.

They just can’t draft to being a contender, they need to supplement with vets. The bottom six right now is junk.

UFA is dangerous, GMs commit to too much. $ and term. Got to be careful on July 1st

I swear GMs go brain dead on TDL and July 1. A lot of mistakes are made those two periods.
