I hate how marty has him high on the PP , this guy should play down low , zero puck management skills or urgency and only tries to pass , he's sitting next to Hutson on the point , 2 guys with muffins , I'm starting to think MSL is actually an idiot , not just a bad coach but actually not very smart of a person

MSL is more lost than his players and accept minimal success as a great improvement.

I understand them trading players like Toews, Kane, Debrincat and Strome as they were the top players and their intentions were to tank for Bédard, but I find it questionable to trade a 6’4” 220 21 years old 3 years after being a 3rd overall pick. Also, it’s not like Dach was scoring 30 goals with 30 Assists, he wasn’t having much of an impact and doubt he would have affected the tank.

This is an organization that recently won 3 Stanley cup with a bunch of winners and warriors. Is it possible that maybe, just maybe Chicago compared Dach to those players and saw something, like poor work ethic, laziness, nonchalance, poor attitude at times they and decided it was better to move on?

It is possible but here we were so desperate acquiring a big skilled center that we all drinked the Kool Aid. Now Habs management act like a guy who bought an used car, thinking that car would be reliable and fun to drive. After the engine, the brakes, the steering and the transmission broke (with high cost as his garage), that poor owner think he invested such money on it he's convinced now the car will be good for 10 years. But no, the car break again and he will never decide to pull the plug. He's stuck with that lemon and he's humiliated from his neighbours, family and friends.

To Dach's defense , Makar is the best Dman in the league and that was one of the greatest move we seen recently . Dach looked like a fool on that play , but it's hard to blame him, knowing the player he had infront of him.

Sometimes big guys like Dach are slow with their footspeed. And he lacks a bit of hockey IQ. Not every big player have hockey IQ and footspeed like Kopitar or Matthews. And the example of those 2 have effort in their qualities toolbox.

Which is often a sign of the coach not workign anymore. Edmonton looked like that at the beginning of last season even McJesus was sucking big time. He had only 13 points in 13 games -2 which for him is terrible.

After the trade I asked why the Hawks would be willing to give up on a 21-year-old 3rd overall pick, a guy with size and talent. Hopefully, he turns it around but he isn't showing us much in the way of potential.

I said this many times and recently I visited the Hawks board and asked a few questions about him. I must say, they were a cordial lot and the replies about him were basically a confirmation of what we are seeing now.

After the trade I asked why the Hawks would be willing to give up on a 21-year-old 3rd overall pick, a guy with size and talent. Hopefully, he turns it around but he isn't showing us much in the way of potential.

He showed lot of potential in his first 60 games with us. He was on pace for 19 goals and 55 points and playing very well. He was only 21 so still room for growth. There's always a new toy effect when a player is traded tough so we needed confirmation if he could keep this pace for a longer period of time.

He's 23 now and almost 24 and it doesn't look like he can keep that pace. It's been 20 games since his return he should be fine by now. It looks more and more like it was the new toy effect and he can't self motivate. I'd wait until the end of the year but it certainly doesn't look good but i would not say that he did not show potential. When he's working he can be a good 50-60 points big 2nd line player.

All the skills in the world doesn’t mean squat if he doesn’t have the drive to compete. He’s lazy, if they can move him they should.

The Habs started the season playing like they tuned out the coach. It's also the signs of a locker room with poor (or bad) leadership (which was a problem in Edmonton).

It's clear leadership in the room is lacking, that means that Monahan/Allen were doing the heavy lifting the last two seasons and the current Habs player leadership is just not it.

It really throws a wrench into the rebuild. They have to find a 2c this summer. Also, what do you do with him if he continues to play like this. He’s a line killer.
