Better comp for Dach would be Chad Kilger

Older guys here would remember hype around Kilger as every big C drafted in 1st round got the "He has shades of Lindros" push in years after Lindros draft. Kilger was soft as shit for a big man so right off bat the "Shades of Lindros" label was very wrong

Older Hawk fans would also remember he was the big "Piece" we traded Carney away for. He f***ing sucked while Carney continued on as a 1st pairing defender for years in Arizona and Anaheim (And was part of US Olympic team)

Such a bad trade

Never showed any of the offensive "Skill" he was supposed to have and failed at C being moved to wing during his NHL career

Kilger bounced around for years because GM's kept thinking he would put it together (Habs fell for it one year when he got hot for a few weeks)

Dach probably will have similar career arch. Though Kilger at least could kill penalties which prolonged his NHL career into 30's

Yeah, it’s his sixth year. Who knows what would have been without injuries, but it it was going to click, it would have happened by now. Pretty rare for forwards to suddenly break out in the back half of their twenties.
