Player Discussion Kirby Dach (Part 3): TabarDach Edition!

I liked the acquisition of Dach at the time and although he is still young Montreal needs to make room for some young prospects going forward. Trading Dach along with Dvorak and their salary now may free up the cap space to overpay a little on Evans and Armia. This would have minimal impact on our playoff run and get rid of a lot expenses.
Dach has litterally no value. Instead of getting a 3rd rounder for him, you better hold on to him and hope he become a reliable middle six guy.

Start Dach out as 3rd line winger next season. If he can stay healthy, and plays well may move him up. Habs severely needs #2 center next year. Can't rely on Dach to fill the role
I was even going to say buy him out, but he’s really not a big cap hit. Regardless, I think they’re done with him. Hopefully they can entice a true number 2 centre to come.

Besides. He’s out for the season. They can’t trade him.

yep. In Dach's case, you let him play on wing next year and hope he somehow find his groove again. Then at least you have options of trading him with a bit of value or extend him.

Sucks for him and Montreal. Seems like the Habs are always in an evaluating cycle that they don't get out of,waiting and watching to determine what they got. Creates some difficult decisions no doubt.

Are you suggesting there haven't been dozens of 'dime a dozen' players taken @ 3OA? Galchenyuk says hello

No, I'm suggesting you made a terrible take worse by adding an even worse take.

Now you're bringing up Galchenyuk, 7th in scoring of the 211 players drafted in 2012, and making yet another vacuous take...

Gotta know when to fold em dude lol

Still pulling for Dach. I think it’s unfortunate when a young guy like him can’t stay healthy. Having said that, I never really saw what others saw in him, not to say I told you so because the guy got hurt, but I wouldn’t be surprised if what you see is what you get with Dach.

I’d be more surprised if he developed into a bonafide top 6 NHLer than not. I was leaning that way from the moment we acquired him. I understand the gamble Hughes took, and who knows, time heals all wounds. Maybe Dach will get the last laugh
