Bjugstad had 76, 72, 67,54 and 82 in his first 5 full nhl season (didnt count the 11 games he played at the end of his nccaa carreer.) He had a lot of injuries later on, not the first years where development is so important.Bjugstad comes to mind

Silver-lining if there is one, Dach knows what he's in for... he understands the challenges in front of him. In a perfect world he uses that experience has an opportunity to grow as a person and athlete, and manages to come back stronger physically and mentally. It's all in Kirby hands on he responds to this setback.I'm very concerned about how much real playing time it took Dach to become even somewhat successful. His struggles defensively were well documented and never went away. We can't afford that -27 bullshit next season I'm not confident he'll show up ready to play.
Yes Benoit Brunet.

Good one! Let’s hope!Vilardi is one
I don't take pleasure at all. I wish we didn't do the trade in the first place. I am pretty a annoyed about the whole thing. You win - how dare he. Glad you take pleasure on crapping on a professional athlete that has suffered three serious injuries before he turns 24.
Dach was not productive the season he was traded and would have not affected the tank season Chicago was going into.Don't think you got my point. It made no sense to trade productive 23 years old players when starting a rebuild. We did not trade Caufield or Suzuki when we started ours. So assuming Chicago saw something other than the injuries is ridiculous. They went for a scorched earth rebuild for Bedard. They basically traded everyone why had any kind of value.
If Dach played liked he did with us in his first season, would they have traded him?Dach was not productive the season he was traded and would have not affected the tank season Chicago was going into.
If they traded Dach because they were worried about his injuries, our staff team didn’t their homework and if Dach injuries had no bearing in their decision to trade him, why trade a 21 y/o 3rd overall pick 6’4” 215 lbs center 3 years after drafting him? You would think that this is the kind of player that would compliment Bedard down the road after the rebuild.
How do we know Chicago didn’t see something they didn’t like? They had 3 seasons to assess him. What we have seen from here since he’s been with us is probably what Chicago saw and it’s not someone we should have traded for.
Of course they would have not traded him and I believe we have seen why they traded him. Dach might have the size and talent but his problem is between his ears and I think he just doesn’t have it in him to commit to being a professional day in day out for a lengthy period of time.If Dach played liked he did with us in his first season, would they have traded him?
Maybe Dach didn’t take his rehabilitation and training seriously which lead him to struggle upon his return.I'm sure they saw stuff they didn't like, not sure how much it had to do with injuries.

He had a major injury and his play was lackluster before we got him.I see, Hughes needed to be able to anticipate the 2 knee injuries.....
From a team building perspective, all we lost is Romanov - who is a good player but we have an abundance of LD. With the amount of assets we have, HuGo should be able to get a 2C. As for Dach - aside of wishing him a speedy recovery, he is not lost. He can still be a top 6 wing.
KH traded for a former 3rd overall pick and didn't work out, or not yet at least. Its definitely disappointing but I'd rather KH takes a chance on a player like Dach than not. I thought it was a decent gamble at the time.He had a major injury and his play was lackluster before we got him.
We could have moved Romanov for something better.
He can go be a top 6 winger somewhere else. I can't trust him to stay healthy. We also have Caufield, Sfaf, Demidov and Laine to fill that role.
I understand hindsight, but I was worried at the time that Chicago, a team rebuilding, was giving up on a 3rd OA C with size. We can all pretend that these orgs are run by morons, but they have inside info we don't.KH traded for a former 3rd overall pick and didn't work out, or not yet at least. All I know is that Caufield clearly is better after having a year after recovering from his injury so we should extend that courtesy to Laine…but never should’ve with Dach because he’s a bum and always was!
This. I much rather the HuGo strategy that brought Dach to Montreal than the Marc "trades are hard" BargainBin approach.KH traded for a former 3rd overall pick and didn't work out, or not yet at least. The Dach trade is forgivable because you tried to catch future top 6 C
The Barron trade for lehk is the one that still hurts the most
Defensemen that can’t play defence will never be top 4 guysThey tried to catch a future top 4 D.

I'm watching the Rangers vs Preds and Barron should be forward because he isn't cut out for NHL defense. He has good hands and can skate and seriously should be a forward. They often improve over time, like Jeff Petry.
Let us not forget the draft pick included in the deal (13th overall) which turned out to be Frank Nazar. He had 24 points in 21 AHL games this season before being called up by Chicago.I see, Hughes needed to be able to anticipate the 2 knee injuries.....

And with that, a Bat Signal went out to @MarkovsKnee.Damn! That's too bad. Reminds of me of Markov's knee issues.
