I never understand the argument, "he can get hurt in practice, he can get hurt in any game", when people want to knock situations like the Rangers not releasing Kakko and Lafreniere. Yes, they can both get hurt while playing for the Rangers. If you do not understand the difference between getting hurt while playing for your NHL team as opposed to playing for another team, I do not know what to tell you. You accept that every game player(s) can get hurt. But, you want to minimize the risk of injury and I certainly dont want either of them missing time from the Rangers season because they got hurt playing in this tournament. Same aggravation as when a player gets hurt in pre-season. Practice? How often do guys in the NHL actually sustain serious injuries like this in practice where they miss serious time? I seriously can't think of any off the top of my head. Bottom-line: Rangers made the right decision as did Jack Hughes.
And, I LOVE this tournament and watch as many games as I can. Happy that I will not have to miss the gold medal game or semis as I sometimes do with scheduling.
