Kingston Frontenacs 2024 25 Season Thread Part Iii

Not sure of the schedule for the next round yet but if they play at home Saturday or Sunday, they should introduce the two first round selections to the crowd and let the picks see and feel what it would be like here.
They have done that before- with Frasca and Battaglia a couple years ago

Despite regular season and finishing first, as someone unbiased to that whole conference, I have though from midway through the season that Brantford is the weakest of the top 5 in the East. They were just more consistent. At their best on best I would pick any of 2-5 against them.

I will continue to pick Barrie all the way. But I think every team in the eastern conference with health had a chance to win their series. I actually flipped a coin to choose Flint or NB as the upset team.
Brantford has a good enough assembled roster and is the best coached team in the conference imo. The top four forwards are effectively divided to form two dynamic duos. The wolves if healthy and as well coached, is probably the only other team in the conference that could form two scoring lines as productive as Brantford.

I thought Kingston was the visiting team against Barrie. That would mean at best Sunday and do you really want them seeing a nearly emptu arena LOL

No offence but the first thing the fronts need to do is make sure they playes they draft are going to lay for them

I believe they play games Tuesday and Thursday so mid week which will suck

Barrie thurs and sat

Fans have come out the whole second half of season like they always do when there is a good team, where have you been beast!

We had more fans for both games in a snowstorm than Sudbury but they criticized OUR support and team

This is who I want the fronts to draft 9th overall (if he is still there)

6’3 190 and plays a pro game apparently. Had over a goal a game and 2pts a game with little Caesar’s. Based on this video kids all smiley and happy- seems like a great kid. Take notice Kory Cooper!

Cooper needs to not make the same mistake he made last year. Looking at the changes that have happened along with the direction the team is going in I do not see it happening.

Kingston is back and as long as they set up a system that coaches can follow this should be the change that is needed.

Springer has a GM that seems to know what to do and a coach that has the drive and system that is going to keep developing players.

The challenge is that Kingstn needs to develop their assistant coaches and have Mann set up a system that the next coach can follow and implement.

I know this may sound strange but I see Kingston doing better than Ottawa if they keep this system and do not go crazy.

I would love to see a Euro draft where they draft a 17 year old player that is going to be elgigible for the draft next year and a 16 year old that is going to fill a need.

As to the draft this month go with size skill and attitude. Stay away from the frasca or Thiobodeau type players that are stars but think everyone else is there to make them look good.

I doubt the goal is going 0-2 there Beasty!

Agreed the plan is to win both games I am sureBUT what I am saying is theymust win one in Barrie. There is a difference

Anaheim probably goes into evry game against Winnipeg but that does not mean they have to win.

Last time they met the Fronts were the 3 seed and the Colts were the 2 (and the Bulldogs number 1). Kingston lost both games in Barrie then won the series in 6.

Not ideal to lose the first two, but they don’t need to win one of the first two.

TRADE ALERT

Kingston Receives:

8th Round ‘25 (KIT)

15th Round ‘25 (SAR)

Sarnia Receives:

7th Round ‘27 (SAR)

15th Round ‘27 (KGN)

I wonder if they try and jump into the 2nd or 3rd round this year knowing they'll likely recoup some picks this summer/next deadline instead of waiting until pick 71 for their 3rd pick.

Moving future picks for current picks so they have more picks now, knowing a sell is likely coming at some point to replenish the '27 picks
Yeah but unless these are gong to be part of a later package they really do not good to the team. Let'
s face it very few 8-15th round players make teams.

They are going to have to be used soon in a trade are they not to ahve any value.

Yeah it's a definitely a longshot but I'd rather have 7 shots at a lottery than 5. Kingston in general hasn't been a great drafting team over the last few years so the more chances the better.

Kingston has had players picked in past the 7th round play OHL games in 3 of the last 4 drafts - with McGowan in the 10th being far and away the best pick - so while yes it is unlikely, might as well swing for the fences.

It's more about the protected list. Teams can only protect so many players, so there is a bit of a balancing act year to year, to ship picks around to ensure you can stay at or under that number of protected players.

Exactly, It's all about managing you're cupboard of picks, You still have to keep the cupboard equalized or you will have issues managing your roster + they have to take into account what years they are building for a run.
Teams are making irrelevant trades to the fans just to get their picks back in balance.
