The challenge you are going to have is that you have a ton o of 05n on the team. Who do you keep, and who do you let go?
Don’t think vaccari will have any value think he’s as good as gone. Uens the same, and I also heard at one point he was getting NCAA interest because he is very smart (not just because of hockey)

Here’s how I see things:

Vaccari- gone/in mix
Uens- gone/in mix
Bishop- back
Burns- gone 3rd round St. Louis
McGowan- back
Pieniniemi- gone 3rd round Pittsburgh
Hay- unsure but leaning towards back. 7th round Tampa bay
Miedema- 60/40 gone 4th round Buffalo
Willis 70/30 gone 4th round Nashville
Pickell- gone/ in mix
Soto- back
Uronen- gone 6th round Vegas
Have Willis or Miedema signed yet with the NHL teams
Not yet. Year isn’t over though. I think Miedema will sign for sure. Willis not 100% sure. Would’ve assumed after the big memorial cup win and his season last year or the first couple of months this season he would’ve signed but he didn’t yet. Pretty confusing.
If you are looking at Betts, I am not sure that he will want to come here and be back up.
It would likely be a situation that London has. Medvedev as the 1A, Elliot 1B(Medvedev 17 too and Betts will be 17 next year.) and if they went and got a guy like Hillebrandt, scraps from another team it would be the equivalent of Elliot being picked up off waivers from Saskatoon.
Is it a mild rebuild tweek If so Betts and Vaccari should be ok
I think it’ll be a big time rebuild and they’ll struggle to score goals next year.
The question becomes for Coooper what do you see t his team doing next year
Definitely a bottom 4 team in the conference. Likely bottom 2 imo.

Miedema will be interesting as I see Adams gone as GM so up to new guy. I would not be surprised to see them wait to see what he shows at camp.
Wilis probably the same unless he shines in playoffs
Uronen will be done no matter what ifnot in the Vegas system then back home. You do not want to tie up a Euro and OA in one player

If you are not going to be competitive then why give up a draft pick just keep Vaccari. He is sutable for what you need.
Definitely a bottom 4 team in the conference. Likely bottom 2 imo.

Definitely not Bottom 2 Ottawa and NB are gong to be worse. Petes will be better and you stillhave a pretty good returning crew coming vback next year. Oshawa will also lose a lot ofplayers so you never know

Miedema and Willis (and Hay)have to sign by June 1st or else their rights expire.

Kingston will have talent to start the year but after the heavy buy this year I think it could be a heavy sell year next year. OAs over the summer + OA deadline deals, Battaglia almost assuredly gone, Williamson possibly gone with conditionals for an OA year. I don't think they'll be poor enough to start the year that they'll full on miss but I think their ceiling is 6th

Miedema, Willis and Hay would be prime for the NCAA if they don't get signed. They'd be better off starting their NCAA careers so that they could be signed as FA's in a couple years than coming back for OA seasons.

What a great game last night. A lot of positives to take from that game with it being their 4th game in a row on the road during a 7 day road trip. The number one star was the number one star last night without. question. Schenkel was much better last night and more of what I would expect from him moving forward. question. Hrebik was unreal. We had at least what Mann refers to as grade A scoring chances that typically go in for our guys but Hrebik came up huge. A key for Kingston vs these stronger teams is going to be staying out of the box. You can't take that many minors and expect to beat top teams. Especially when they are mostly soft penalties (tripping, high sticking, etc.). By soft I mean not in the D zone attempting to prevent a goal. Even if we kill them off it still kills your momentum as we saw last night. That was like a playoff game. Going to be lots of exciting hockey over the next few months.

As for the OA discussion for =next year, I will share my thoughts later today. However, there is no way the plan should be to keep Vaccari as an OA. Some of us are questioning if he should even be dressing right now during this stretch run over Betts, let alone come back as an OA. Far better options IMO.

Barrie
Brantford
Niagara
Brampton
Will be fighting for the top 4

Sudbury Kingston and Peterborough will fight for 5-7
Oshawa NB Ottawa will fight for the 8-10

next year

Keeping wililamson may be important because really he is the only returning player the year oafter and you need steady influence

I think if they don’t get signed. 2/3 get traded in the off season. Cooper needs to maximize value. If they get enough for those 3 they may be able to keep guys like McGowan, bishop.

Willis and Hay I could see leaving because of the American factor

American factor? What do you mean, Willis is American, Hay is Canadian.

That's kind of what I'm getting at. That's probably going to be what OA's look like in the CHL going forward.
