Raisng jerseys were usually done for players that had done something for the team and in the NHL. AFTER they retired.Yes I don’t understand why kingston can’t just be like the rest of the ohl and do it when they’re playing. Would draw more attention- a current nhler having a jersey retirement then 20 years down the road. Nicholls has been retired since 99’ very surprised they didn’t do it sooner
They don't do retired numbers, they honour them and the numbers are still active.Raisng jerseys were usually done for players that had done something for the team and in the NHL. AFTER they retired.
just out of curiosity whose jersey have they retired.
Correct. They don't do retired numbers, they honour them and the numbers are still active.
Kingston Canadians era: Mike O'Connell (#5), Tony McKegney (#7), Brad Rhiness (#10), Ken Linseman (#14), Chris Clifford (#29), and soon to be Bernie Nicholls (#16)
Frontenacs era: Mike Zigomanis (#7), Anthony Stewart (#13), David Ling (#17), Chris Stewart (#24), Keli Corpse (#88)
OK, I'll bite what did Keli Corpse do that deserves his jersey retired?Correct.
If they were to ever retire a number I would have to think Keli Corpse’s #88 would be the first one.
I’m glad they don’t retire numbers though. Save that for the nhl.
I would have to assume it would be the over 400 points in the OHL mostly with Kingston -- not sure what your AHL game totals have to do with an OHL jersey being honoured?OK, I'll bite what did Keli Corpse do that deserves his jersey retired?
He played 7 games in the AHL
Part of the reason for so many points was that he played 5 years with the teamI would have to assume it would be the over 400 points in the OHL, mostly with Kingston -- not sure what your AHL game totals have to do with an OHL jersey being honoured.
I don't have a "favourite" and I sure didn't include any criteria for anyone else, only answered what you asked - why retire #88. 422 points in 263 games (regular season only) is darn impressive- so I could see why one could argue if you are going to retire a jersey that would be a good choice.Part of the reason for so many points was that he played 5 years with the team
But everyone has their favourite
Your criteria eliminate all goalies and defenceman is that fair and reasonable
i would be looking at some of the players that they hve hoisted the names,
Occonell and the rat come to mind but the challenge with anyone from the Canadians era is that they only usually played 2 years in Kingston and then went pro.
Only has the 6th most points ever in the OHL and close to 100 more all time than the next front. No big deal.OK, I'll bite what did Keli Corpse do that deserves his jersey retired?

Exactly. Why the hell does it matter what you do when you go elsewhere.I would have to assume it would be the over 400 points in the OHL mostly with Kingston -- not sure what your AHL game totals have to do with an OHL jersey being honoured?
Gordie Howe played the most seasons ever out of anyone which led to him accumulating a ton of points and he’s still widely regarded as one of the top 5 players ever. What’s your point?Part of the reason for so many points was that he played 5 years with the team

I agree he would be second or third for meI’d have Ling up there pretty high as well. Brought so much more than just goals and points. And still the only CHL player of the year for the Fronts.
And barrie scored on it. Refs need to give their head a shake for that oneQuestionable calls here in the third. Callens goes down for an obvious tripping penalty but no call and then next time up the ice fronts get called for a tripping penalty right after they got off of a penalty kill.
This is a team that is probably trying to understand a coaching system for the first time since they got here.I had the misfortune of watching the game live tonight behind the Fronts net for two periods!! Lol
Lots of comments on the game, many negative.
Positives
- I thought Vaccari was outstanding. Only reason IMO the game was close.
- I thought the top line looked good. Hustled, generated some chances. Especially Soto. On the second line Miedema had some good moments as well.
- McGowan was awesome back there. Played fearless. Used his speed and physicality to move pucks out, get to pucks and just lay the boom all around. Definitely the best D tonight.
- I thought Uens was good overall. Should shoot more on the PP.
- I thought Poole had a good game considering his linemates were terrible.
Negatives
- The ice seemed awful. I counted at least 15 times where Fronts players wiped out, many almost costing them goals. The Colts didn’t seem to struggle with this meaning either they are used to it or something is off with the Fronts skates or players.
- What in the world is the PP doing? Shoot the damn puck.
- Thibodeau did kill many plays. I counted I think 7 or 8 where he just circled the net after entering the zone with the puck and then crashed into one of their players and lost it. I would have even been happy with a shot on goal.
- Burns was a mess on D. Several mental breakdowns where I couldn’t figure out what he saw. Ditto for Budnick.
- Chromiak struggled against the Colts strong forcheck
- Outwater, Hemstrom, Callens didn’t do much of anything out there.
- Hayes was a turnover machine in our zone. Him failing to get it out led to goal number 2.
- I’m wondering if we will end up keeping Savard. I’m not sure what he is adding and took a dumb penalty that led to goal number 3.
- Credit to the Colts. They played harder and smarter. They seemed less talented than the Fronts, but they kept their game simple and forchecked well
- The Fronts in their zone were a disaster. MANY grad A scoring chances because they either can not get the puck out (often wingers), can not make a simple pass or can not tie up a guy. Easily could have been 8, 9 or 10 against.
- The offence is pretty but struggled to get pucks to the net. It felt like they scored on most their chances. But did not have anywhere near enough.
All in all a disappointing game, with lots of work to do to go after home ice.

Good summary - we shouldn't forget the dumb penalty Miedema took in the 3rd as well - undisciplined and selfish.I had the misfortune of watching the game live tonight behind the Fronts net for two periods!! Lol
