Lots of Oiler fans complaining how the refs always "favor" California teams. Won't they be in for a shock when they learn how playoff games are reffed.

Nick Shore's 4 points is just two shy of the number of points Carter has scored since the trade deadline.

Carter's scoring has been dreadful the last 8 weeks or so, yet he still leads the team in points. Maybe he has a sore back.

Their team and fans need to put their big boy pants on.
What the Kings did to them tonight is what they will get in the playoffs.
They more or less folded.

Some of them are pretty funny with their grassy knoll posts. I mean if the league wanted to help the Kings at this point they would want them to lose to improve their draft position and not "help" them win.

That and teams have figured out that if you stop him, the Kings don't have anyone else who can score. Pretty simple really, Carter gets the puck, 2 guys go right to him.

More skill and speed along with youth pretty much won this game tonight. Next years team is gonna be better it can't get any worse can it.

McDavid for the most part was completely shut down. He'll see opposing team's top guys all series long. Kesler in particular will do a number on him. And if not Kesler then Vermette.

hell of a game for drew +4 in 26 30 over 3 mins on both pp and pk

Drew's game has been criminally underrated all year because we were spoiled by his superhuman effort last year. That may have been the finest individual defensive performance in a decade. So he went from near-flawless to merely fantastic. And I think his overall game has been underrated since he's less flashy than he was as a rookie/sophomore. All the coaching reports say the same thing about how he just makes everything easier for his teammates. Continually the only dman to lead his team in every ice time situation. And I could go on forever.

Was really happy for Shore tonight, too. He's never going to be a burner but it was nice to see some patience and creativity rewarded. He's a pretty good playmaker for a bottom-sixer. 1G 3A might be the best game he ever has.

Refs must have finally got the $3 I sent them. Should have used Fed ex instead of usps, maybe the would have helped us win sooner

Bottom 6 Madness! Who were those guys?

honestly, i see it as them finally getting to play.. check out the TOI for last night, no forward under 10, no forward over 18, most of them hovering somewhere in the ballpark

sutter finally rolled 4 lines. he abused the D pairings as usual but the forwards all got to play. compare this to arizona where the kids are sitting in the press box and we have kopi and carter pushing 20-22min, clifford and nolan at 8. i don't think sutter quite gets that if he wants this staff to run this system, he needs to roll 4 to keep the energy up

Brodizinski had a hell of a game.

He looks more comfortable than Kempe did when he first came up. Not as flashy, but he's a very savvy player, really knows where to go on the ice. Has an instinct for making things happen offensively.

Funny enough when Brodz was starting out in the AHL he did nothing but bang posts for like half a season too. HOpefully he gets that out of his system at the NHL level right now so he can do what he did down there up here

I'd also attribute his comfort to his identity--he knows his game as a winger. I think Kempe is still trying to define himself so his comfort level is still being established PLUS his knock is inconsistency rather than raw ability.
