No respect ... haha

I wanna believe that we are not just going to roll over and die for Mcdavid and Drie ... but i'm sure Kopi and Danault will have something to say about those two .. and quickie .. lets just say i would never bet against him ... either way its great to be back in the playoffs.

it is kinda sad to be starting a playoff series without drew :( ...

what do you guys think do we stand a chance?

Oilers fans by an large are cautiously optimistic and respectful...they've been thru the wringer the last few years and know what it takes to win in the playoffs AND not to overlook an opponent.

Unfortunately the media and just about everyone outside Oilers and Kings fans have the "Oilers in 3" mentality.

Hope the Kings can use it as motivation.

It's possible, if the Kings stay out of the box, Quick plays like he has been playing the last 2 weeks
AND the depth of: Moore, Arvidsson, Kempe, all have big series. The D will have to be good, for sure.
Maybe the team wants to rally hard for Brown...I'm sure they all do. Would be a bonus if Byfield, Vilardi Kupari can contribute. Time for Matt Roy to lead the defense...remember all the media thought Vancouver woud sweep the Kings in round 1, in 2012?

It's the playoffs. Some of the weirdest things possible have happened at the dance. The Kings could have a 35% PP, while not scoring any goals at all in Games 3 and 4 at home, in a 4-2 series win against the Oilers. Iafallo and Brown could have 4 goals each in those 6 games.

The Kings have an odd mentality that will see them collapse in on themselves in a game, two goals against turn into four in an instant, but they will wipe it away completely in time for the next.

I could see Edmonton having a blowout (or two) in the series only for the Kings to come back and take the next one. Can't see the Kings losing in less than six games, but having a very, very good chance of winning the series.

The biggest playoff issue to watch isn't the young defense, special teams or goal scoring, it's McClellan's proven inability to make proper adjustments. He is very much a Plan A only coach. The good news is that among all the teams the Kings could play, Edmonton is the least varied in its approach, so those adjustments may not be as big a problem in the first round. After they win this round, which I think they will, I think the limitations of the roster and coaching staff will be more obvious when they play a team that is capable of winning games in more than one way.

I would describe oiler fans as cautiously optimistic. they may seem friendly right now but as soon as one controversial thing happens look out. They will be viscous and the entitlement from the 80s will come down like thunder.

Might be time to remind them that defensive players do very much have a right to the same ice as their star forwards and that getting to a spot first isn't the "interference" that portions of their fan base always laments about.

Like when McJesus took that boarding major plastering Kempe after getting mad he didn't get free passage to the puck

The Oilers have been playing really well, both teams really have heading into the playoffs. The one who keeps it up will go through.

There is talent on both sides, but I think mental toughness is what will decide this series.

Boring to say but it comes down to matchups, goaltending and adjustments. We just need to look to last year how Mtl and Danault shut down both Toronto and VGK.

Out of all the playoff teams Edmonton is only 1 goal better than Toronto and Minnesota in goals against. All these teams have outscored their opponents in the regular season.

As we all know, Goals Against is what wins in playoffs.

I think LA beats Edmonton in 6

If we can keep the Edmonton PP off the ice, we have a real good chance of winning this series.

I also feel like we have to win either game 1 or 2. I don't like coming home 0-2 with the way we tend to play flat at Staples (Yes, I called it that)

It’s funny, everyone on their board wanted the Kings in the 1st so badly. It reminded me of the lead up to the 2018 playoffs when everyone (myself included) on this board wanted. Eva’s instead of the Ducks or Sharks.

Hopefully the same results.

The only reason the Kings get no respect is because of their play before this year.

This season the Oilers are 3 ROWs better. That’s nothing. Two Hart candidates and you’re 3 games better than your opponent isn’t reassuring.

If you believe system beats talent, then you should feel good about the Kings chances to make it a long series in the worst case scenario.

Now would be a perfect time for an unsung hero emerge - like Vilardi has the last 2 games. He seems focused....the thing about his shot, it's sneaky deceptive...gets it off fast. From his last interview, he seems hungry and confident in his game....another thing about him, he good handling the puck and can make plays.

AA can be a dark horse too...but I wish he handled the puck like Gabe...AA flubs a lot of pucks...but he's certainly skilled....hope he wants some revenge, for the Oil not offering him a contract and letting him go. AA has to go to the net and drive...and his shot is very good...rarely, do you ever see a weak shot from him that hits the goalies. crest...the kind 85% of Iafallos shots are like. AA shots are usually accurate and hard.

Another one - Kupari had 2, 2 on 1's with Danault, on the PK and either could have ended up scoring on those...maybe they should be on the kill, together. Would so love to see Rasmus emerge and have his best games yet. He certainly has the tools...and flashes. Just need to see him put it all together. It's not impossible. At least, he's never a liability, as he's good defensively. I think he can surprise defensemen, as they probably do not know how fast and powerful he can be.

Think Grundstrom and Lemieux can elevate some, too. Going to need their physical play.
