If Stevens even thinks about pairing M&M again he should be fired. Once again, like last year, all the opposition goals are scored with those 2 on the ice. Forbort and Ladue were easily the best D pair out there. I have no idea what game some of you were watching.

The one where Forbort couldn't get it up and out, leading to a scoring chance? Not sure what the hell he was doing here

Or the one where Forbort centered it to the other team under ZERO pressure, leading to a guy walking in?

Folin and Fantenberg were noticeably better. Forbort and LaDue were lost.

Auger has almost no chance. He did have a good game, best he has played in two years. Campbell is an excellent, athletic goaltender and should be in the NHL.

Blake said he wanted more of a front of the net present on the pp Auger showed that. He is exactly what is needed when it comes to the pp. He has to go thru waivers if sent down. I honestly see him being picked up if we waive him

Here's what I'm thinking.

-Folin and Fantenberg both make the team
-MacDermid, Mersch, Gravel, Andreoff, and Nolan get sent down to the AHL
-Lee and Loktionov get jobs in Ontario
-Campbell steals the back-up role from Kuemper
-Prust and Laich get released from there PTO's

Our bottom six ends up looking like (When Gabby returns)

Gaborik-Kempe-Brodzinski
Clifford-Shore-Lewis
*Dowd, Auger

I'm probably wrong but thats just my prediction.

More like jet lagged.

A lot to like about Fantenberg so far, Folin is a mixed bag, I think he struggles on his breakouts. RHD though helps him. I doubt the Kings send Nolan or Andreoff down, not their style, but I agree having Clifford, Nolan and Andreoff on the roster is a waste. You are likely correct about Gravel, MacDermid and Mersch. A very unfortunate and reasonable chance MacDermid could get claimed. Lee already said he is not interested in playing in the AHL. Maybe he goes back to Europe/KHL. Not sure Loki will play in the A either. Campbell>Keumper in my book, but Kings chicken out and keep the lesser player. No PTO's make this squad, although I am tempted with Lee. Hopefully he gets another game. Re; bottom six, Auger is not going to be in the NHL and benching Dowd is a waste of skill.

I haven't seen enough from Dowd to really miss him. He seems quite tweenerish to me. He's seems quite creative, but doesn't seem to really excel at anything.

Folin and Fantenberg were noticeably better. Forbort and LaDue were lost.

Cherry pick much? Try all the plays he made to keep the puck out of the scoring areas. The first example is nothing, puck hit a skate. The second one was awful. One bad play isn't a train wreck, its pre-season for crissakes. I can't believe there are players on here that actually thought the Kings would keep McNabb over Forbort. Get a clue. Folin and Fantenberg were meh.

Folin has been really disappointing to me for his skating alone. He looks slower than Greene but Greene was at least a battleship. He's got good IQ to make up for it, but hasn't been more impressive than 6 other guys. I guess if you're just looking for an 'ol reliable' bottom pairing RHD he's fine, but I was really high on him last year and I've seen nothing to support that yet.

It's not cherry picking, those are the only two plays I could find he was involved in defense on video. The game was full of plays where he and LaDue lost their guys in front of the net and made poor choices. I noticed him many times for the wrong reasons, right up there with the M's. They were bleeding scoring chances.

C'mon, The puck hit a skate? He had no business trying to get Shore the puck, it should have been along the boards towards Clifford. At worst Clifford ties his guy up and it's out. That's a bantam play. There isn't a coach in Juniors and up that tells their players to do things like that, trying to spin that is silly. Coaches bench players for crap like that.

Forbort hasn't been good at all this preseason, he was poor last game as well, which is worrisome because he was with his regular partner in Doughty. He might pick it up, he might not, but both Forbort and Ladue faded last year after looking good to start. It would suck for this team if that trend continues, because there's not much to fall back on.

I don't remember his skating being that poor in Minnesota. Didn't he have surgery in the off season? I remember a knee injury last year for sure. Right now he looks like he's barely hanging on out there.

Last year, Folin had a strained MCL in November and then a Torn Labrum / shoulder in March

Ah, so probably the shoulder for surgery. Well, he's not going to be sent down at any rate, so hopefully he's still trying to get his timing/conditioning back.

It would be nice to see one of the growing D men show some steps in pre-season, all of them look like they've mentally regressed a bit. Could just be adjusting to Stevens,
but fingers crossed that they show signs of getting it together. Right now, the only D that looks noticeably better has been Muzzin.

I've been more impressed with Lee than half our squad, but at his age he knows this is his last shot so I'm sure he's motivated. Fant has been just OK.

Yeah I want to see Lee stick too. Honestly I'm pretty torn, I think all three could be good for us--Lee, Fantenberg, Folin.

I wonder if the Kings might go with 13F - 8D with bottom lines and parings rotating (w/ exception of Martinez and Lewis who are locks)

Brown - Kopitar - Brodzinski
Pearson - Carter - Toffoli
Cammy - Kempe - Gaborik
Clifford - Shore -Lewis
Dowd

Forbort - Doughty
Muzzin - LaDue
Fantenberg - Martinez
Lee - Folin

Quick
Campbell

does anyone happen to know what the Chinese characters in the patch the teams wore in China mean?

Like I said, I have no idea what game you were watching.
