It wasn't the color for the stadium series jerseys it was the numbers that I couldn't stand. I get why they did it.
Of course I'm one that wants us to go back to Forum blue and gold full time. But I know that likely will never happen.

I lump both iterations of the Stadium Series together so the first ones get a "meh" as well.

It's just like, this team wore "gold" for 20 years and this is the golden anniversary yet here we are with a predominantly gray jersey.

Wow, this is really disappointing. I was hoping for a purple/gold fauxback as I hate anything black/white/gray associated with the Kings. '88 was the worst rebrand there ever was. You'd think the 50th anniversary threads would acknowledge the original (good) color scheme beyond the inside of the collar that no one will ever see. I was so excited at the thought of an Edge-ified version of the 80-88 jersey, or something resembling it. I'm glad they saved me $200.

Many of you won't remember me because I've been stuck in Florida for close to 4 years now with work assignments, but this choice is well past pathetic.

Why not just pick a late 70s sweater? I understand that most of you weren't alive then, but those were the teams (and the fans) that kept the team viable.

Ignoring the past is very dangerous....

But they sucked in the 70s.

Whoa, a PSP sighting.

Haha you guys are harsh. I like them. I liked the Dodger Stadium Series jerseys too though. I spent the last hour mocking this up to see how it might look as a full uniform. Not sure about the leg stripes, but I'm guessing they'll match the arms stripes:

This looks really good, I dunno why people are complaining about it.

Not as much as I feel sorry for Oilers fans who don't even want to wear their jerseys.

A stupid Oiler person (will not say fan) threw his jersey on the ice to protest how bad the team was, not because the jersey was ugly. Nice try though.

Whether it's the Kings or the Islanders or any other team, grey jerseys in any sport really do suck.

Well I'm sure the Oilers board would be highly interested in your fascinating opinion on jersey styles.

So dissapointed. I was hoping that they would be black. I had my wallet ready for these, but I'm going to have to pass.

No matter what,people will complain.

When a new sweater/jersey is unveiled, it gets critiqued. That is normal.

This particular jersey sucks, IMO, with that sentiment being shared by most Kings fans online.

You are right that people will complain no matter what, but this isn't a case of a couple of people not liking it: it is the vast majority of opinions so far.

This Kings HF trope of "people always complain" being laid down by some of the usual "Kings do no wrong" people in this thread is laughable.

Just because people will always find something to complain about doesn't invalidate the criticism. Many fans collect jerseys and like to wear multiple ones to games throughout the season so the unveiling of a new jersey is met with excitement.

Yesterday was like going to see a hyped blockbuster movie and having it be a bomb. When that happens with a movie, it gets widely panned. This jersey is no different.

"Kings do nothing right" people are quite insufferable. How does just throwing on a retro jersey incorporate 50 years of the team when they have worn different colors for longer than they have the retro?

Montreal did just that, without having to introduce a gimmick/cash grab to celebrate their history.

How is what Montreal did not a gimmick or cash grab? Are they giving jerseys away with no modifications, not even a patch?

Don't buy the Kings jersey. No one gives a **** if you do. I'm sure the organization isn't calling you and leaving threatening messages for not being down at Team LA right now throwing money at them.

"Cash grab." What a meaningless ****ing term. I hate to inform you, but the NHL is a business. They only exist to make money. Everything in the NHL is a "cash grab."
