Well, many on here wanted DL to get cute and pick up a KHL guy.

DL has no money to lure a top name from over there so he signs Kopitar's line mate from the lock out.

Seems like a decent low risk/possible reward signing.

oh goodie another depth signing and more competition for 3c no way shore and dowd make the team

What? it's not like he's a 30 year old vet. If he somehow outplays shore and Dowd how could that be bad (unless all three are awful)?

People wanted DL to sign free European assets, here we are.

If he can sell his little bro on the Kings organization it'd be money well spent.

 I said that elsewhere, this is our roundabout way of making the CBJ deadline trade en route to Cup!

He's a winger.

Shore and Dowd are going to have to be better than the other options. Nothing wrong with that.

i ve seen 3 profiles and they all say center. I was actually being sarcastic because we have too many players on nhl contracts at the moment and i see no point in adding more. However i guess i will go with the more competition the better idea.

Again where did i say its a bad thing Just don't see why yet another meh player being signed but as i said above i ll just go with the idea of more competition the better.I never once wanted dl to sign euro free agents.

What do they say about the lottery? Got to play to win?

DL picked up a bunch of scratchers from the liquor store this off-season in the hopes that one of them is a winner.

He was Kopitar's line mate during the lock out, apparently, so he has at least played wing in the past.

Profiles I looked at had him listed as a winger, and he's more than likely bound for Ontario. Don't know why you'd assume he'll be in the NHL.

i figure a player that made khl clubs would only come over with some sorta guarantee that he will play nhl maybe i'm wrong thinking that but i'm entitled to my opinion. With andreoff shore dowd lewis latte already going for 2 center slots i think its going to be tough for both shore and dowd to make the team Adding Bjorkstrand only makes it less likely both will make it. There are only so many spots

Almost all KHLers that come over will not have a guarantee. Only the top of the top will. Take a guy like Shoshnikov who was a borderline 1st/2nd liner in KHL at just 22 and came over to spend almost to whole year in the AHL. Bjorkstrand is a 24 year old depth/borderline KHLer (3rd/4th liner on a really bad team). I doubt he cracks the Kings roster.

He has played three full seasons in the KHL, playing all games when healthy. This season he was third on the team in goals and sixth in points, playing 16 minutes a game in average. He is no Gretzky and Medvescak is not CSKA but claiming that this makes him a borderline KHLer is just wrong. From what I have read he has been among the best, most noticeable and consistent players on his team. Not that I think he will make the Kings though...

I think Dowd has more creativity honestly. He won't be much more than a 3c tho.

Not sure why Shore's game never translated.

Agree on Dowd and think he's gonna have some turnovers this year that will turn Sutter red. I'm okay with that though.

Shore is a strange one, he's doing everything right defensively, and generating shots. He's like a smarter but slower TL. But he's not very assertive offensively and that hesitation kills him. It's why I still have hope for him though, he's certainly oozing hockey IQ and I want to love it. Great 4C at this point imo though.

isn't competition a good thing?

yes i think it is However i think adding yet another bottom 6 player was not needed perhaps im wrong and he will surprise me I just don't see why we need 15?16 ? nhl forwards on the roster Is there enough games to give them all time to show what they can do? or is one game good or bad going to determine it? If we add some new player i prefer to add some top 6 forwards so we have better options then king to move up when gaborik or whoever goes down

:handclap: Excited to have a Dane in LA!

Doubt he ever makes the team unless a bunch of injuries happen

Thats what they said in Croatia also when he joined three years ago. He was only there to fill up a quota of youths and he was cheap. I am more worried about his development, than his impact in LA. But ok, how often do you get an offer from NHL when you werent even drafted....
