Why? What's the objective reason to do so? Clifford and Nolan have skated regular 4th line shifts on a Cup winning team. Seems like Latta can play center or wing, and get in a few fights. How is Boll better than any of them?

I agree, he's not. Plenty of possibilities on the bottom 6. Still think Dean's not done tinkering.
