I'm still optimistic with this player. I think the switch might flip this year when it comes to offensive production, and I think he has value on a hopefully contending Kings team in a few years as a player who can effectively play all over the lineup.

For all his lack of scoring, Kempe drives play. That is his value.

Enters the zone with the puck on his stick, owns the center of the ice, drives the D back into their zone.

Some day he will have wingers that aren’t at the peak of their career slumps, or are not career bottom-6 ...

It will happen.

Agree. He still has another gear and I think this year will prove it. He has been working really hard on and off the ice this offseason and with a real good NHL coach and increased ice time and role this year could see him putting up 45-55 points .

For the 3 years, I'd be happy with:

Year 1 = 15 goals and 20 assists
Year 2 - 20 goals and 20 assists
Year 3 = 20+ goals and 50 points

Then it will be time for a 5 mil a year payday.
