Kaliyev with his 39th of the season. Dogs lead 4-2 early in the 3rd versus the Soo.

Jan Mysak with 3 points, including another two goals. Kid is impressive and has formed a solid 1-2 punch with AK34.

Edit: 5-2, Mysak with the hat trick.

There really is no point in him returning to the OHL next season. There won’t be any challenger for him there.

Mysak is ridiculous too. Man what a player.

I was at the game today. He’s a treat to watch. Real strong skater and a nose for the next. I think he’s got something like 13 goals in as many games.

I still think it’s best for Kaliyev to be back in the OHL next year. Let him play with Mysak and continue to improve his game. Bulldogs should be better as well.

If you could only keep one of Turcotte or Kaliyev who would you choose?

I think I agree. Some of it has to do with the disappointing season by Turcotte but most of it is Kaliyev's progression and domination this season, and that he potentially fills a huge organizational need.

Unfortunate that Kaliyev won't have the option to play in the AHL next season and will be forced to likely return to a level that he has already shown he can dominate. CHL/NHL deal screws players like this every year.

2/16 results:

Moncton won 6-2, Spence was scoreless and +2.

2/17 games:

Halifax @ Moncton (Spence)
Kitchener (Ingham) @ Hamilton (Kaliyev)
London (Phillips) @ Ottawa
Owen Sound (Dudas) @ Oshawa
Sudbury @ Peterborough (Thomas)

Ingam had the day off, but the back up let in 3 goals on 8 shots. Ingam comes in, the team is still playing bad, it ends up 6-2 but he kept battling enough to stop the bleeding, and the team roared back in the 3rd to win 7-6.

Kings fans might want to watch the replays, Kaliyev had a solid offensive game including a goal that shows off absolutely unreal hand-eye coordination. He was behind the net, the puck was dumped in behind the net, bounced, he hits it out of mid air over a player, it bounces off the ice again about 2-3 feet in the air where he bats it again getting around another D, before batting it in on it's final bounce.

2/17 results:

Kitchener won 7-6, Ingham stopped 20/23 in 49:10 in relief. Kaliyev had 2 Goals(41), an Assist(45) and -1.
Peterborough won 5-2, Thomas was scoreless and even.
London won 4-2, Phillips had an Assist(4) and +2.
Owen Sound lost 4-3 in OT, Dudas had 2 Assists(32) and +1.
Moncton won 7-2, Spence had 2 Assists(36) and +4.

Regarding Kaliyev.

I am more a fan of those slappers from the wrong side, like Ovechkin, Laine. Goaltender is sliding over but just cant stop it.

NHL goalies are better, but the passes on the PP will also be faster.

You gotta wonder how the Bulldogs constantly squander big leads.
