This kid might be the future of this franchise. He was great at development camp and in the scrimmages. Really interesting to see his progress moving forward and into the future. Hoping for the next Quick.

You can see that's starting to get more comfortable with the play in the WHL. In his post-game interview last night he mentioned the smaller ice and a more crowded crease as factors he's had to adjust to. He's been giving up less rebounds and staying a little bit deeper in the crease and is starting to play with a ton of confidence.

Obviously Kaliyevs numbers are great, but what I love is his consistency. He’s not scoring in streaky bunches and being a flat track bully against weaker defences or anything like that. He’s just consistently getting 2-3 points a game, game in game out.

Watching his goals he also scores a lot of goals in traffic, around the slot and is fantastic at getting open. There is so much in his game that should translate and it’ll come down to his compete level and ability to fight through the increased physicality, like it does all juniors.

Interesting quote from Yannetti buried in his reply to a question about Aidan Dudas - it's a comparison to former prospect Brandon Kozun.

I mean, there are different levels of it, but we talk about guys that have that ‘It Factor,’ and with Aidan, you always saw it under the surface, you always saw little glimpses of it his draft year. It manifested itself as the right kind of chip on his shoulder. The kid’s got questions about his size probably his whole life. So, by the time his draft year was over it turned from kind of a chip on his shoulder into more of just an internal drive, which is really how you want it to do. You can only use the chip on your shoulder for so long before it turns to negativity. (former Kings prospect) Brandon Kozun had a chip on his shoulder that was really good, and then it turned to negativity and it stopped his development. So, with Aidan, he had the chip on his shoulder for the right amount of time until he didn’t need it anymore, and then it just turned into drive.
