Voted Kitsyn. Too many very close here. Went with Kitsyn, because he was a point a game player 2+ years ago in Mississauga and then had 19 points in the playoffs. 2+ years later, the staff said he has improved his skating, is much bigger and KP says he may be the best stickhandler in recent camp. Kitsyn is uber dedicated and is staying in LA all Summer and working with 2 trainers.

Add Brodzinski

This is where things will start to spread out. Forbort likely takes it due to draft positioning.

Add Miller

Voted Prokhorkin. Highest upside of anyone left and showed real flashes of great play in his short stint in Manchester. Was really really hard for me to pick between him and Gravel. I don't have Forbort until like 7. His game has made zero progress offensively, he isn't as physical as I'd like him to be, and he still struggles defensively at times. Yes, he is still a project but his offense stagnating at UND just isn't a good sign for me.

I agree. Forbort's not that high on my list.

I don't get the Forbort dislike and the Gravel love. I like them both, but to me Forort has the higher potential, better offensively, and is further along than Gravel all while playing very similar roles for their respective teams. Other than Gravel looking better when both were at the WJCs what am I missing?

Forbort isn't further along. Gravel is closer to NHL ready. But that's not it for me. Forbort was always touted as a two way defenseman. Well his offense isn't there. So that makes him a one way defenseman (:sarcasm:) and he's not better defensively than Gravel. Gravel is going to be an absolute stud defensively. Forbort...I'm not even sure what he projects as. He doesn't have good enough offensive ability to be a true puck mover and he's not good enough defensively to be a real shut down guy, although he could be possibly. He just has too long to go still and his offense isn't good enough for me to rank him above Gravel.

Pretty much where I stand. Gravel is better defensively and they are equal offensively.

I think Forbort has better vision but worse puck management skills.

He COULD turn it around, but that potential can only carry him so far. His skill progression has stagnated, which is what makes that potential unlikely.

Cool. Thanks guys. Just due to where I live I get to watch Nortth Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Minnesota St., UMD, and St. Cloud St. game pretty much any weekend I want to. Was just curious if people had Gravel higher due to something I wasn't seeing or if it was just a matter of opinion. Sounds like I'm seeing a lot of the same but just have Forbort higher due to his slightly higher potential ceiling.

That said I don't have him much Higher... I have Forbort at 5 and Gravel at 7 with Porkins in between...

Forbort is going to beat out Gravel in this poll, and it's strictly because of where he was drafted. As of right now, Gravel is the better player.

Forbort has more god given talent, and we will see how he develops at the pro level, but there was not much improvement at UND, which is a bit alarming since UND, I believe had the second or third most alums skating in the NHL last year.

Lets see what Mark Morris can do, but currently the development of Derek Forbort can officially be considered "stalled"

I agree 100%

Gravel is going to be like Scuderi or Mitchell. Forbort I see going the way of Shaone Morrisson (with a bit more offensive skill).

More Scuds than Mitchie. Willie showed surprisingly decent offense in our Cup year and a hell of a shot actually. Kevin won't have that going for him. But I do like using Scuds as a comparison and getting a guy like him would be absolutely GREAT. Like I've been saying, Kevin will be Drew or Slava's partner for many many years.
