What is Shore's NHL upside? I can't see him being better than Manny Malhotra. 10+ goals 30 points. His strength is his two-way play and at the dot.

Give me Forbort. Yes he's been on a slow boil but he still has 2nd pairing upside. I take a legit 2nd pairing d-man over a 3rd/4th line Center every day of the week.

On Shore y I think you are short selling the importance of his excellent two way or defensive game. His smarts make him a very solid prospect/rookie nhler.

That said Forbort is going to be a 3/4 dman with a solid #4 and a potential #3 as his upside. Shore will be a solid 3rd pairing C and could in time be a little bit more. You can't go wrong either way.

No worries. Highway 1 has had a treacherous year as you probably know and we need all of the Kings fans we have present for our 3rd cup this season. This one will be a great one after everything we have been through.

actually i really don't know ignorance is bliss i guess lol seriously thou i did the trip last year with less driving experience and a dad who told me every turn i needed to make like Sorta side seat driving as i call it. He is recovering from a stroke and is a lot better this year then last So i don't expect as many problems. I also agree this is the year with Lucic playing with gaborik and kopitar and the 70s line back in tact I think a cup run is coming and will be around to see it again.

My mother is recovering from a stroke right now so I know a bit of what your going through. One day at a time sort of thing but it is all good. Happy to hear your dad is doing good. It was touch and go for awhile if I remember what you wrote about it at the time so really stoked that your dad is doing good. on Hwy1 it has been a bloody for months from what I am told. A few big accidents on the way to Kelowna (summer campers I guess) and then on again through Alberta. I have a friend who is in Law Enforcement on that road and he has been yammering about it for a few months now and he typically doesn't have too much to say.

On the team I think this is the first time during our "dynasty" run that we have had a top 6 as incredible as we do today. And our bottom 6 is just loaded with solid good players too. If we get Voynov back or move him for a comparable replacement I think we are as cup ready as we can possibly be. Heck add in the munchkin back up for Quick and we have a very good back up who gives us even more depth then we have had the last couple of years. I thought Martin had an off year last year. Not a terrible one but not as good as he should have been so I like picking up weeman.

Oh well good trip.

I'm with Thrice on this one but I know I'm in a minority. I have Shore a few rungs down because even though his vision/IQ seems amongst the best in our org and his two-way game is strong I can't see him ever being anything but a souped-up Stoll. With all due respect to Shore, I like him a lot and he made the fourth line look insanely good and the third pretty good but I think that's all he's got. I don't think he has the physical tools to match his brain, not much size, not much speed, above average passing and shot, flat-out insanely good in the circle and positioning already. Production could get up to 20 goals like in the AHL but that's about it. Doesn't read like a top sixer to me is all.

If Shore ever gets to Stoll's level over his career that would be amazing. In his earlier days he was a really solid #2 C early on in Edmonton.

Right, that's what I mean. I wasn't saying it as a negative in any way, just that other prospects have a higher ceiling. Shore is the most likely to be a long-term NHLer imo.

Well first off sorry to hear about your mom Don't give up she can make a full recovery no matter how bad it was. Don't let the doctors nurses get to you DO as much physio you can. My dad has gone from barely speaking in a wheel chair with most of his right side unable to move. He is now close to getting rid of his cane and can move his right arm more and more. His determination is awe inspiring to be honest He works at it 6 days a week constantly doing something to improve. The first day is going to be the worse of the trip its from the island to Kamloops I did this trip last year and found parts of the mountain driving far to fast ( i believe some parts are 120 limits) on bendy roads crazy stuff but slow and steady i guess
I wanted more scoring at the deadline and truly believe if lucic come at the deadline instead of sekera we would have been in the playoffs. Kopitar needs a talent winger to go with Gaborik and lucic will help him score more this year imo. I honestly think Forbert will surprize a lot of people and help us a lot. This season can not start soon enough Thanks for the good luck i need as much positive vibes as possible

If you or anyone reading want to ask me questions feel free to email me in here Im not a doctor but i can tell you what we have been thru and a good sounding board for a plan to recover with rehab

I'm thinking like around 40 points with what you mentioned about his defensive game; maybe a good 3rd line center. Forbort may be a 2nd pairing D, but he's still mostly going to be more defensive minded, which is similar to how I was judging Shore. Same with Lintuniemi, which was my choice. Guy looks like he's going to be a very solid defenseman with size and a bit more offensive capabilities.

I don't know, personally, I would have chosen Kempe as the top prospect, but I thought more people would have chosen Shore based on what we've seen him do in the NHL already, which was pretty good.

40 points as a Center puts him in the elite class of 3rd liners. I don't see it. His possession numbers were not impressive and he showed zero offensive ability with the big club last year. He's a kid so I expect him to get better with age/experience but I'm legitimately concerned about his offense upside.
