Can they just collectively say they don't want to bother with the 3rd? Just leave the arena? I can't take more soft Corsi shots.

Team can look great for some stretches and then look like they could be competing for a lottery spot. I'm not sure if there is any one player who could save this season.

Everything seems disjointed with this team. The offense can't get goals for the defense, the defense can't be there for the goalie and the goalie rarely bails out the defense. That's been the recipe this season.

I agree with everything you say. Yet thing Kings are in a playoff spot, and really aren't being threatened. Weird season so far.

I had the WAS/TB/FLA games as probable losses on this trip due to the Kings streaky ways so this isn't a surprise.

The way they are doing it, however, is a big surprise and completely unacceptable.

Better see some fire in the 3rd period.

Sounds like a team that has injuries, or players recovering from injury.
Also sounds like a roster that injected youth, youth is inconsistent.

Remember Toffoli/Pearson are still only 24 years of age. with less than 300 NHL regular games.

Budaj, not his best either.

Now the Kings are at 91 shots in regulation without a goal and counting. Almost 190 minutes of regulation time without a goal.

Someone is going to have to explain to Sutter and Lombardi that the point of the game is to outscore the other team, not outshoot the other team.

Honestly,

It's a miracle the Kings have this many wins, at this point of the season.

A third string Goalie, backstopping the team since October....

Put it this way, Carey Price's injury one season, SUNK MTL, they had no shot, at all.

That's where the chain of bad events starts. The D guys are trying too much to jump start the offense, leaving them open for the stretch passes and outnumbered attacks. And let's face it, Budaj doesn't handle those anywhere near well enough.
