Compare those names to any other teams and it looks minuscule.

Think what you like its ok by me Most of the kings are already home grown and have some replacements coming. We already have one of the most home grown lineups in the league. The kings development is above average no matter what you think.

if martinez going gets us a rw for kopitar i would live with gilbert playing 12-15 mins for the rest of the year. There is still a outside shot of LaDue getting a call up as well

LaDue is close but definitely not ready. He needs the whole year in the AHL. My biggest want (other than trading King) for the team is a young skilled top6 winger, but this Kings team is defensive first and that won't change under Sutter. So it's more important to get a top4 dman than lose one. They will probably keep all the defenseman until they know who they are losing in the expansion draft.

I could see the Jets being game. Paul Postma or Tyler Myers. Both decent D. Postma is under used and is an upcoming UFA. Good value there. Myers is on a decent contract.

We'd want someone coming back that is better than Stuart or Chiarot. TBH that's not saying much.

I'd love Myers on the Kings. Is he fully healthy after his surgery? I know he's only played a game or two.

I wasn't thinking right away my friend but before the end of the year I think he would bring both speed and skill to that last pairing Give him a cup of nhl coffee I got the feeling he would impress us I am not advocating the trading of martinez only we could survive without him and having a gilbert greene on the ice

Absolutely, but I think when looking at prospect pools it's important to realize those guys aren't being asked to be 1-2 Cs or Ds, they're slotting in as depth.

I don't even think he will be ready for his "cup of coffee" until next year. He is still raw. Still needs to adjust to the speed of the AHL right now. I don't think the Kings will make the playoffs this year, so trading Martinez won't hurt as bad. I'm all for getting a top6 winger and trading Martinez, but only for the right deal. And I haven't seen one yet.

than Martinez for Meyers?

I would not do that. Martinez has improved and with our system, we need mobile D. We only have two mobile D in Doughty and Martinez. Myers is not a better skater, than Martinez. + Martinez has been lighting up lately.

Martinez and Brown at 50% for Halak and Hamonic.

Brown would be third on the Islanders in scoring, for what it's worth. It looks like removing the captaincy has helped in a big way and he is scoring at .5 ppg. Swapping Hamonic and Martinez, swapping Halak and Brown at 50%. If the Islanders ever decide to buy out Brown, the recapture is on the Kings.

Hamonic is worth a lot more than Brown/Martinez.

Also no reason to trade for Halak. Budaj has been playing just fine.
