WIN IT FOR CAPTAIN JACK

Great week last week. Another good week here and we leap right back into the top of the standings and likely the underlying stats too.

This week is against easier teams on paper - but all teams that are actually playing pretty well and will hurt us if we take the foot off the gas.

So don't Leafs this up and have a letdown week, plz.

Two of hottest teams in the league facing each other tonight.

I do really feel for Doughty, dude was playing great, he always has an uptick when the Olympics are coming, I hope he comes back in time to play well and make Team Canada.

But yes, time to end their winning streak to continue ours.

Seems like there will be no line changes, but Semyonov has been tearing it up in the AHL, would personally like to see him get a look. Not at centre - all 4 centres have been good, none should sit. Could sub in for Ritchie at LW though:

Bunting - Matthews - Nylander
Kerfoot - JT - Marner
Engvall - Kampf - Kase
Semyonov - Spezza - Simmonds

I'm not a huge fan of Ritchie but why change what's working if you don't have to?

I could maybe see Holl getting back in on Saturday if he's not traded by then because it's a back to back but until then, why change what's working?

i would have started hutch in this one ... he needs an easy game to regain his form from last year
why did they recall woll ? hes not even close to nhl ready.

Just saw this on nhl.com.

Kings projected lineup
Adrian Kempe -- Anze Kopitar -- Dustin Brown
Andreas Anthanasiou -- Phillip Danault -- Alex Iafallo
Carl Grundstrom -- Rasmus Kupari -- Trevor Moore
Brendan Lemieux -- Blake Lizotte -- Arthur Kaliyev
Alexander Edler -- Kale Clague
Olli Maatta -- Matt Roy
Tobias Bjornfot -- Mikey Anderson
Jonathan Quick
Cal Petersen

That 5-5-1 record seems a bit deceiving. Anything can happen of course. They do have wins against Blues and Vegas. Otherwise they've beat Habs, Buffalo, and Jersey for the other 3. All their losses come to teams that should beat them... so hopefully Leafs continue that trend. They look pretty rough on paper. The D looks weak.

We certainly have made some tweaks during the current 5 game win streak - for example, for the first win, Holl was in, Lily was out. But yeah, I’m totally cool sticking with the current lineup, just a slight preference to see Semyonov get a look, with Semyonov playing well in the AHL, and Ritchie not showing much in the NHL.

The Kings are not good this year, again.
Kopitar has been great but significant drop-off after him. And this isn't the old Sutter-coached team that won 2 cups, so they aren't going to pound the Leafs through the boards.

However, Danault does has had some recent success against Matthews and with Iafallo that line can be a handfull.

Leafs win it, but closer than it should be, 4-3.
