It's not a question, the Kings are dedicated to a total build. Not a retool, a rebuild. Blake stated himself early this season, there are only two players on the roster that are off of the board for a trade, Kopitar and Doughty. Is Gost the difference between making the playoffs and picking in the top 5? Absolutely not. So, there is no reason for the Kings to make this move. Regardless of whether Gost realizes and exceeds his potential. It's not going to help this team on their current projection. This proposal (and I understand that a Kings fan was the one who proposed it) is the very antithesis to the direction this team as been on for a few years now. Trading away pick(s) and prospects, which is what this team covets most makes no sense.
This. Management is really high on their defensive prospects but IF Blake were to bring in a Dman this summer it would be someone that played a role like Greene/Regher.
