hicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford is under investigation by the LAPD after allegedly squirting a heckler in the face with a water bottle during Monday's Game 4 loss to the Kings ... TMZ Sports has learned.
We know ... 27-year-old Kings fan Clark Wong filed a BATTERY report Monday night claiming he was "sprayed" by the hockey player at Staples Center.

TMZ Sports spoke with Wong who says he was sitting behind the Blackhawks bench -- and was heckling Crawford -- when the goalie was pulled from the game toward the end of the 3rd period.

That's when Crawford -- who's in the middle of a 6-year, $36 MILLION contract -- allegedly whipped out a water bottle and blasted him right in the face.

Wong says he believes the bottle was filled with backwash -- along with water -- and it has caused serious irritation to his eyes. Wong says he's going to a doctor to get his eyes checked.

League sources tell TMZ Sports ... Wong was ejected from the game 3 to 5 minutes after the spraying incident for "taunting the players" and it was while he was being escorted out of the arena that he began to rub his eyes, complaining about the pain.

We're told Wong filed a report with police before leaving the arena.

Continuing the water sports legacy of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, TMZ Sports is reporting that Chicago Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford is being investigated for allegedly spraying water at a fan during Monday’s Game 4 loss at the Los Angeles Kings.

And the fan, 27-year-old Los Angeles Kings supporter Clark Wong, filed a battery report with the police.

I don't think the guy is an idiot for filing the report at all.

I mean the guy was heckling a player which happens all of the time in every sport. If he was out of line he should be ejected (which he was) but he shouldn't have been squirted by Cryford. The player shouldn't ever interact with the fan unless it is in self defence which in this case it clearly wasn't.

Cryford threw a tantrum after having a bad game and then squirted a heckler down. The fan got chucked and that is all that should have happened to him. Cryford should have ignored the guy and now will on some level have to account for his own actions.

In the end it is much ado about nothing but neither one of these two people are any more of an idiot than the other.

Guy rule #2: Don't dish it out if you can't take it

shouldn't be not to taunt opponents players the real issue here ?????
I still have hopes that a player pulls the Vancouvers "Green Men" into the box and rips them a 2nd one.

Really.... leave the players alone. Even the opponent one

Agree. The guy gives Kings fans a bad name.

Cryford.

Fan filling suit.

Sounds so full of make believe to me that it could only come from hollywood.

I think there is enough wong to go around on this one.

so some of you guys think heckling the opposing team is wrong ? (serious question)
if so why, and I don't mean out of line stuff but say chanting there names or questionong their birthrights

Look I personally do not think anybody even a paying customer has the right to heckle players. I am embarrassed he is a King fan.
Crawford should not have sprayed water on him but he's playing a WCF game where his team is about to go down 3-1 and he's only human. To me 90% of the blame is on the fan.

what an embarrassment to King fans :shakehead

This probably all anyone will talk about today.

Im not saying your wrong but I am saying that Cryford is as much to blame for the end result as the heckler. People heckle players in every sport, it happens. I think its stupid most of the time and have seen it go too far too but the point is that in this case the arena threw the offender out. His actions cost him his ability to watch the game and that should be that.

Cryford is way out of line for squirting the guy in the face and should have to account on some level for his actions. If he lets it go or notifies someone then its over and the offender gets thrown out.

He threw a hissy and squirted someone and as a result now has to deal with his decision to interact on a personal level with the guy. I think the guy was out of line no doubt but so was Cryford and of the two the "fan" used words where Cryford used a physical action. I minor one and one that will no doubt be laughed away as it should be but it doesn't negate the fact that he decided to do what he did and now has to take time out of his life to deal it.

I think both parties were equally stupid in their actions. That would be my take.

I am under the stronger impression this might be a false flag from a Blackhawk fan, just to motivate themselves up than I am under the impression this guy is one of us.

Just another unnecessary distraction, either way.

Really?

What do you think "(opponent) fan, you suck" chants? Or the arena sponsored, organ-accompanied "(opponent) sucks" chants? Or the continual goalie chants (also arena sponsored)?

Wasn't the guy primed, even encouraged to be an idiot to Crawford?
