Kings News: Kings Call-Up Reinforcements

This was the exact scenario I knew about but I wasn't sure if they signed like 1 day contracts quietly or were allowed to just bc they were team employees.

Sometimes it is team employees (like that one time with Ranford at practice), other times it is someone who is just subbing in (I think they've even used some former Junior Kings goalie in the past).

The one-day contracts are tryouts that are signed by amateurs to serve as a backup in an emergency situation, which happened to the Ducks this season. They signed a goalie with RHI experience to serve as backup for that game.

Yep I knew about those emergency backup deals but never knew if you needed em for practice or not. It'd be an interesting thing to know if I could just walk off the street and practice for the Kings or if I'd need to sign a deal just to practice.

He never said they've been brought to LA to play in any games. They're here with the Kings and they are free to train with the team. Consider them as "guests."

That's right, never said they would play, they are there for the playoff experience, to see what it's like to be around the players and to skate with the rest of the Black Aces.
