GDT: Kings @ Aves | 8pm MT | Emergency GDT

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Yeah that's a 4th line that's a problem for other teams. Two guys who could be 3rd liners that are on the 4th line and then Kelly who's great at 4W.

Can you guys not suck against the Oil for once?
From your mouth to God's ears my friend. Our only hope is home ice and as we all know

What a weird comment. Your 2nd bullet point name drops Landeskog who hasnt played in 3 years, Manson who has played less than half the games, Johnson who has been back with the team for 5 minutes and on the decline, and Vesey?! Sorry but this seems like a reach and a little bit desparate to make a point. The most valid namedrop here is probably Kiviranta, who has been a steady in the lineup.

Also, Malinski behind Makar and Girard as an offensive threat? Since when is Girard an offensive threat at all, let alone being mentioned with Makar?
I guess you totally missed the point. Avs have on the ice a team which doesnt require any of those mentioned guys to actually play, but if it comes to it I dont have any doubts the names mentioned cant do the job required in the playoffs. Thats depth without needing to play any of the guys in loveland 👍🏻 Yes some of them are injured but expected to be back for playoffs.

And yes Malinski has improved significantly lately in scoring goals and being initiated offensively. I guess if Makar is only player you see then not, but compare why are you comparing 3rd pair D to a generational talent 😅

And yes no-one knows how and if Landy would play, but Im willing to give him the benefit of a doubt to succeed in bottom6 role over almost any of our guys.

Look at Miles Wood... only guy not to clap or cheer when Necas gets it... then the one single golf clap after.

Sour puss hates his usage right now.

He's by far the worst player on the ice every night he plays, beating out Warm Body Vesey for the title. F***ing Wagner even had a better run when he was up.

I can't believe this buffoon is going to get a Cup ring

I guess we should be grateful Miles didn't take a dumb penalty last night.

Still so maddening that he was actually doing what he does best--creating chaos and retrieving the puck with some big hits in the attacking zone, but then forced dumb passes right afterward that the Kings intercepted, the latter of which led to a break up the ice and scoring chance against.

It was so funny to watch. The guy was forechecking like an absolute menace but that's how you can tell the guy has a brick for a brain. Passing back to the point aimlessly because he knows that's what he is "supposed" to do, but he never gets his head up to see Kings players in the passing lanes.

Dumb, dumb hockey player.

Practicing with / watching Makar play every day has certainly rubbed off on Malinski. He's been great.
I actually think playing with and watching Sam Girard helps a lot, too. Sammy is a textbook example of how an undersized Dman can be effective defensively. He's really good at leveraging his positioning to make the most of his size when he needs to. Obviously Malinski isn't quite as gifted a skater as Girard is, but outside of Spurgeon I can't think of a better mentor for Malinski as far as how to make it as a small defenseman.
