Cmac deserves GM of the year. Adding right handed shots in Coyle and Necas has added a much needed extra dimension to the offense and powerplays.
Totally agreeIf we wanna build one perfect PP line, I'd switch Drouin to Nelson, that man can shoot almost like Rantanen. Mack(flying around), Necas (shooting from the Ovie spot), Nichuskin (net front), Nelson (Rantanen's shooting spot), and Makar (on the blueline quarterback)
that is like a 2 min survival situation for the opponent team
Every year he finishes 2nd because someone else is having some kind of career season that they will never come close to repeating: Josi, Fox, Karlsson...I find it incredible that Cale freaking Makar has one Norris trophy.
Dude has been considered the best Dman for some time now and is straight up better than the competition.
Yeah that's what happens. However, even when those other guys are lifting the Norris they still played worse than Cale. For some reason it's sexier to pick someone else than the best guy in the league.Every year he finishes 2nd because someone else is having some kind of career season that they won't repeat: Josi, Fox, Karlsson, Hughes...
This year the danger was Werenski. If he scores 30 goals it's in the bag for this year though.
I've seen him way more engaged defensively, on the backcheck and down low in our zone at times too recently.Necas is Mack lite, they have a very similar skillset. I'm really having a hard time to believe that he'd not do well at center on this team.
He's a natural center. It's easy to see why it didn't work at center in Carolina's system but would work well here. Right now he's driving his line from the wing.I've seen him way more engaged defensively, on the backcheck and down low in our zone at times too recently.
I think he could fill the 2C spot.
It's just considered boring when the guy who everyone expected to win ends up winning. The underdog effect. Happens with other sports too so it's just natural for people to think that way.Yeah that's what happens. However, even when those other guys are lifting the Norris they still played worse than Cale. For some reason it's sexier to pick someone else than the best guy in the league.
Something similar is happening in the NBA this season. Jokic is the MVP but the media is pushing hard for him not to win it.It's just considered boring when the guy who everyone expected to win ends up winning. The underdog effect. Happens with other sports too so it's just natural for people to think that way.
Now I remember. It was those games when a lot of people thought we still havent found our 2CNope.
Drouin is our best left-handed stick handler, passer, playmaker. He is super important to the PP.
When Nelson was tried in that spot, it turned to shit.
Might as well call it 2 now.I find it incredible that Cale freaking Makar has one Norris trophy.
Dude has been considered the best Dman for some time now and is straight up better than the competition.
Should be 4 at the end of the season.Might as well call it 2 now.
And with one he has he didn't even get the most 1st place votes.I find it incredible that Cale freaking Makar has one Norris trophy.
Dude has been considered the best Dman for some time now and is straight up better than the competition.
Werenski isn't getting it this year. Look at the gap Makar has created on him over the lasto several weeks. Werenski has cooled off big time. 7 points his last 13 games. Makar has 18 in that same span.Every year he finishes 2nd because someone else is having some kind of career season that they will never come close to repeating: Josi, Fox, Karlsson...
This year the danger is Werenski. If Makar scores 30 goals it's in the bag though.
If he doesn't get at least 4 Norris in his career it's a damn shame.
Every hockey writer who votes things like "Quinn Hughes" for Norris or "Auston Matthews" for Selke:Yeah that's what happens. However, even when those other guys are lifting the Norris they still played worse than Cale. For some reason it's sexier to pick someone else than the best guy in the league.
Agree. I have said in the past that IMO Bennett was not the issue for the PP. Bennett certainly wasn't telling the guys to force passes and tell Mikko to slow down the movement of the puck by holding to it long enough to lose it or give time to the defenders to reset. Bennett also didn't have Nuke in front of the net for a large portion of the season. Lehky is good in front but Nuke is on another level. You've identified what is making our PP more dangerous these days- MacK, Necas, and Makar, are all moving around the zone and it drives the other team to madness. With Nuke in the goalies face creating havoc.
What I appreciate about Necas is his hand-eye coordination in close to the net, his first goal last night was indefensible.
Kings fan here in peace. You guys are deadly. I'll be rotting for you guys in the playoffs
I mean... we probably have the best C depth we've had since... the early 2000's maybe? The teams almost as good as the '22 one imo, but they're built a bit differently. '22 was built with a stupidly stacked defense and while the depth up front was still quite good, was still a touch-ish "top heavy".I honestly can't remember what life was like before Nelson and Coyle. Feels so good to have actual center depth. Makes such a huge difference.
Also glad to have some solid depth like Lindgren. CMac took some of Nuke's candy, ate some ass, and put together a damn fine team
Cheers my friendI'll be rotting for you guys in the playoffs
Can you guys not suck against the Oil for once?Kings fan here in peace. You guys are deadly. I'll be rotting for you guys in the playoffs
Now add Landeskog.I mean... we probably have the best C depth we've had since... the early 2000's maybe? The teams almost as good as the '22 one imo, but they're built a bit differently. '22 was built with a stupidly stacked defense and while the depth up front was still quite good, was still a touch-ish "top heavy".
But this team the forward group is crazy deep, especially at C. Tons of positional versatility down the lineup and tons of guys who can play up and down the lineup. Defense is still pretty decent, but a little top heavy for sure. But the C depth will help a ton with the overall team defense.
I'm actually stoked for the playoffs now![]()
