High end optimistic question —

If Kovy scores 90 goals, 100 assists, and wins a Cup here, does he make it to the Hall? That would put him at 507 g, 500 a, 1,000 pts with a Richard and a Cup. Are there players with 1,000 pts and that kind of hardware not in?

A cursory search shows that players like Turgeon and Tkachuk with 1000 pts not in. No Cups for them, tho. Guess it’s close?

Don't forget he's got olympic gold and mvp now as well!

He'd probably be a borderline case

Does anyone know how much cap space we have? Capgeek says 3.1M but thats without the three RFA's we signed.

I like the signing more and more every day. I’m cautiously optimistic tho.

If the Sharks and Ducks don’t improve I like LAs chance to make the playoffs.

I think Kovy and Vilardi have huge potential going forward next year.

A bit premature maybe but I’m excited to get the season going.

Kane with Sharks for a full season will be interesting, if he is happy, he could be a very good player for them.

Looking at the west, probably 4 teams from Pacific and 4 teams from the central make playoffs.

Sharks, Kings, and Vegas (though I think they will take a step back)
Preds, Jets, and a couple of teams vying for 3rd.

then 2 other spots..

Just want to see Kovy, sitting near the face off dot on the power play for the cannon 1 timer that actually will be on net..

Yeah, it's nice to see a little more hope and excitement. Definitely not stagnation.

One thing I kinda like about the deal: salary is mostly up front signing bonuses and a NMC only in the last year. So if they were desperate to unload him for cap space after year 2, they could in theory do so. His year 3 salary of 4.25 mill would be a little easier for an arizona or florida or whatever to take on.

I expect the Ducks to be pretty bad next year.

Agreed, Perry and Baldys best years are in the rear view mirror.

Jesus Saves is always hurt.

I still like parts of their defense core, but now that they added Schenn that’s an advantage to the rest of the Pacific. Thanks for doing us a solid Anaheim.

I never bet against the Ducks because they always roar up late in the season, but Getzlaf is aging, Perry has fallen off a cliff, Gibson is often hurt, Lindholm seems to have taken a small step backwards, Montour's defensive issues are still very visible, Kesler might not even play at all this year...they have some nice young pieces but their older pieces are HUGE question marks. I think this will be a huge re-evaluation year for them.

You can't roast Perry and Getzlaf while hanging your hats on the seasons that Kopitar and Brown just had.

Tons of injuries. Still finished ahead of the Kings. They haven't done anything so it's easy to say they are going to fall, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Eaves is back from the dead. Not a world beater but a good player. They draft very well. Is Sam Steele ready? If he was a Kings prospect, he'd be pumped on here daily for two years now.

Also...Instagram is laughable when it's Gaborik but, fast forward a year, we're supposed to chub over some grillin' and chillin' with Kovalchuk?

Regular season champs. I'll roast them whenever possible along with the sharks.

I think so. He's been highly successful in Russia, so combine that with his NHL career and Olympic career if he did what you said he did there, he'd be Hall bound. Not first ballot, but eventually.

Consider that the Thrashers had him AND Hossa and did nothing with them.
