I hope for the best for Bob. It's one of those I never want to stop hearing him talk, but I want him to retire since it seems it's the best thing for him.

I still remember sitting in front of the Kings TV in 1990, when I started watching the Kings. I would do my homework and have Bob's voice telling me what was happening. I've never met him in person but he was who I always looked forward to hearing in my home.

Anybody can find his video when he talked about his feelings after first SC win in 2012? When he was close to crying?

big loss. Hope someone replaces Ralph though..he kinda bugs. great play by play guy but something bugsss.

IF he is retiring......

What can you say? If you've ever met Bob, you already know.

I wish we'd been able to know he was calling his final game and the team had an opportunity to honor him, like the Dodgers did with Scully.

But considering the health issue, that's a bit selfish, and I can only hope Bob has a long, healthy retirement.

Thanks for all those years Bob, you really are the greatest!

:(

I am sad to see him go if this is the end, but this is best for him due to his health. At least he got to see not one but two cups.

Thank you Bob.

I hope he continues to do his "coffee" and "reflections" pieces. The man is a wealth of Kings' historical info. Love hearing the more in-depth info about these items.
Thanks Bob for all the outstanding years. You made Kings games watchable when the team was not. Like others said above, glad you/we got to experience those Cup runs.

I just pray that Nick Nickson is his replacement.

I hope so too. Nick would be a good transition for all of us but especially those of us that have been listening to Bob for the last 30+ years. i dont know what it is but i think its Nick's temperament, he carries himself very similar to Bob and i like that.

Gonna miss Bob so much though...

As others have said. Nick enjoys radio and wants to stay there.

Ralph changed his Twitter profile to the LA Kings logo very recently. Connecting the dots...

If Strangis is indeed Bob's successor, he will be a fine replacement. Love his enthusiasm, and he already has great chemistry with Jim.

Getting goosebumps watching his celebration during the cup win. I always loved listening to his analysis and enthusiasm during games. If the Kings weren't playing well, he wouldn't sugarcoat it and I really appreciated that. Health comes first, so I wish him the best and hope to see him around during game days.

I'd be more than happy with Strangis as Bob's replacement. Anything to keep Jon Rosen away.

Wish Bob didn't have to go out this was and could've "planned" his retirement, but his health is more important.

Bob just said he plans to do two final games, the last home game in Chicago and the last game of the season in Anaheim. I'm so glad and thankful we'll get to hear his voice for two more games.

As a ducks fan...THANK YOU BOB!!!...you are a legend and one of/if not THE most respected announcers in the NHL and in pro sports...you always showed your love for the sport and team you covered and I always respected you for that...Best of luck to you and your family in your retirement...

kings fans I could imagine this is a weird day for you, but (and it REALLY kills me to say this) if there was ever someone who deserved those 2 rings for the kings it is Bob....and he was the only one I was happy for.

as someone who was born and raised in socal, the fact that hearn, scully, and now miller are not doing games really gives me that "good old days" memory.
