Great skill set at 6'7", but his skating is awful. Like, some of the worst I've ever seen.

JUSTIN AUGER: One of the OHL's biggest mysteries. Auger is huge, has surprisingly soft hands for such a big man, a great shot and is a quality person. So why aren't NHL scouts falling all over him?
Like Leslie, Auger was passed over in last year's draft but a 16-goal season last season might have at least raised an eyebrow or two among scouts. But Auger's reluctance to use his size to his full advantage leaves everybody a little mystified.
Prediction: Someone takes a gamble in the seventh round.
Kings always have a knack for picking up failed good prospects
Max Kitsyn was hailed as the next Malkin. Then he was a real late pick. Now he's back to having real good potential. It's ALL about development.
I've seen some guys in the mid to late 70's that were almost as bad on skates...yet they did fairly well in the NHL...Great skill set at 6'7", but his skating is awful. Like, some of the worst I've ever seen.

Six of those guys I'm referring to are also in the Hall Of Fame...Like this kid we drafted once.. Luc I think was his first name horrible skater. Wonder whatever happened to him? Poor kid.

i always bring that up when people throw that out there to put some player down. it's like putting duct tape over their mouth, because they have no rebuttal. if Luc isn't enough then you can go to Dave Andreychuk as reference #2, another guy that wasn't the greatest skater. between the two of them you've got two of the most prolific scorers in league history and both were always knocked as "poor skaters"
