The Edmonton Oilers Are a Useless Franchise

I know this Thomas Drance “article” is from 2013, but just a reminder of the toxicity of the Canucks fanbase, especially when their team is half-decent. Never feel sorry for them.

Imagine being a Canucks fan and saying that about any other franchise lol.

Thomas Dunce is really special. Again, more fanboy losers as media personnel. Embarrassing

25 goals in 34 remaining games will get Drai all the awards

Remember, Toronto media set the standard a couple years ago that 60 goals > literally any other accomplishment. If Leon hits it while also being top 2 in points, he SHOULD be the unanimous MVP.

(Of course the same media then contradicted themselves just last season when it wasn't an Oiler in the top 2, so who tf knows with those tools)

Excluding his rookie season (where he had 2 + 7 = 9 in 37GP):

GP: 21 Goals: 19 Assists: 33 Points: 52

Wow... 2.48 points/game... that's can't be right? Can it?
Nah. Its not included. The stat line only looked at the games without McDavid where McD was a member of the team. They do include all the instances since 2015-16, but Not Leons rookie season when McD wasn't yet an Oiler.

This is the Nurse we need: big tough defender who can rough up the opponent without taking a penalty....he's much better this season
Nurse has been awesome this season. The love of hockey is back. I really do feel like the woodcroft/manson timeline really set him back as a player. Had his worst play under those two and took awhile to get his confidence back. He's back to being a confident alpha. You can spot that now in many facets of his game. he's believing. It helps a lot when the coaches running things know what they're doing. Further to this point the longer KK and Coffey are here the better the team seems to be playing. Last night was like watching a puck moving machine. So many times I watched and loved the puck movement, the schemes and patterns they run, and the practices being evident. Its a well Oiled team. pun intended.

Yeah, he was crying about it. Like it was a Shakespearean tragedy. Something rotten in Denmark. Just hilarious Nucks are such a laugh giving sideshow. Seems like so many times that org goes off a cliff. Its a franchise fitting for the Wet coast.

Speaking of crying I've never seen a franchise with such a bunch of mops. Petey looking moribund, Bruce Boudreau used to choke back tears on the bench, Garland shouting "your father smells of elderberries" and Hughes having the look of an orphaned kid in a Dickens novel.

If AI designed a club for laugh out louds it would be the cucks.

Accurate and hilarious.

I know Pickard has a higher save % lower GAA and way higher win percentage which makes sense we have a wagon of a team.

Not my fault Skinner is the worst player on this team and it’s not even close.
I’m surprised there’s enough room in that brain of yours for Skinner to live. It’s clear he takes up the entirety of your thought and the best part is he’s going absolutely nowhere.

The Oilers scored 6 goals. Imagine what happens when you score a ton. Crazy concept.

When Skinner is offloaded for futures that poster is going to have a serious mental breakdown over their loss of identity.

I get that this is just a running joke now, but I feel like we really shouldn't forget or understate that it took almost a decade of elite play for Leon to dispell this narrative.

There were supposedly intelligent hockey people trying to claim this as recently as last season.

100%
I can't count how many times I had to defend this to morons who claimed otherwise.

It's like do some f***in research before you post utter nonsense.

The track record without McDavid is there and it's undeniable

Man this guy is such a dumbass, or is just being purposely obtuse. Perry said the league needs to protect its stars, not that Perry himself has to. Perry is literally proving his own point that you can have a rat / greasy type player do this type of stuff repeatedly and they just get the occasional 2 minute penalty.

Iain makes Spector look like a legitimate journalist and not another clown. Either way, I guess it’s damn easy to become a sportsnet regional reporter if these are the people they’re hiring lol
Plus. It was actually the right call. What more of a penalty does a stinky glove face wash deserve? He didn’t even throw punches.

Remember when a bunch of folks wanted to dump him so we could keep Lavoie?
I loved Perrys game last night but it occurred against a former playoff opponent and unfortunately at age Perry can only play occasional games at that energy level. he was very involved, but theres a lot of games where he's not. Its real fun when we get this glimpse of Perry, and I was really wanting him to be an Oilers a decade or two decades ago.

Last night was great. Perry can still score some goals and when it moves him get involved in this extracurricular, but it strikes me the whole team is focused on a club that won't even be in playoffs this season. Was a nice kicking of the dead dog. But Nucks are obscure now. Nice that the Oilers killed off another club yet again. I wish the team despised some other clubs as much as they have developed a distaste for the nothing cucks.

I noticed that, but I didn't take it as strongly as you did... I think he legit just wanted him off the ice at-that-moment and was only yelling because Perry didn't hear him, you see Perry kinda turn his head and snap back into reality.

To me it was just about calibrating the dosage correctly... it was about to boil over, so Knobloch (very confusing to call him KK when also talking about Klim Kostin lol) just turned things down to simmer and got him out there the very next shift.
There was some intensity to it. Perry was a little uber focused on the sideshow at that moment and Knob wanting to reel him back in. It was fun as a fan to see the stuff. I enjoyed it but Perry does get sidetracked into the backalley at times. He would've kept bantering with the Nucks for awhile. Its effective when its antagonizing. trouble is Perry can swallow the hook too.

No I didn't think there were any hard feelings, and not just directed at Perry. Knob wanted things to tone down a bit and just focus on the hockey and getting the game going. As much as we like it as fans to see some hubris it would only lead to further circus. Nucks have nothing to lose. Its the difference in these things. They can be dirty, they can do something malicious. Oilers are focused on real prizes. Nucks are nothing.

It’s like he ignores context. Perry is a rat like Garland. They play that way because they are allowed to. If they weren’t they would find a different way to play. Perry wants to protect the stats but as long as it’s open season he if going to do it to.
As phraseology, when somebody starts with "Just so I understand this" you can be almost certain the OP is not trying to understand something but instead strawman something. Its like a troll signature to start a paragraph that way. You learn to recognize that the phrase precedes bs narrative.

Another one is "let me get this straight" Several other ham and cheese variants also exist.

Did you forget those Cyc, it's only a tragedy/travesty when it happens to a Nucks' star, otherwise it's just part of the game.
