KHL PLAYOFFS 2025

Dinamo Minsk finally didn’t blow a lead thumping Tractor 8-0 today before 15,086 spectators in Minsk.

Zach Fucale was removed out of the Tractor net early in the second period.
Tractor still leads the series 2-1, game 4 in Minsk Friday.

Semifinals are set 👍

I saw some highlights. Salavat Yulaev looks goods.
I remember Salavat was one of the weakest teams in the Top division back in the 80s

what's going on with Leivo playing in random games last few weeks? He was out from 21-27.04, then he played respectable 16 minutes (29.04), then he was out again (01.05), then he played over 22 minutes in a game (03.05), and now he's out again lol. Injury related or what? If that's injury, then its a strange one if one day he's out, then he play almost 23 minutes and is out again

[ofc its a stats-watching, unfortunately i don't have much time to follow news]

That’s an odd one for sure. Injury details are so secret now maybe we’ll know soon since he has a couple of months to heal as they were eliminated today by Locomotiv. Leivo has a new 2 year deal so he’s staying with UFA for a while.

From sports express michael zislis:

😱 🍯 Some experienced Salavat Yulaev players were unhappy with Joshua Livo's behavior during the playoffs. This conflict did not come to light ahead of time only by a lucky chance. I do not want to inflate its details. Let someone else write about them. I'll wait for now. It's hard to understand how to get out of this situation. They expect something completely different from one of the highest paid players in the league. You can part with him. But where can you find an equivalent replacement?

So I guess we’ll see how this plays out over the summer.

🤕 Joshua Livo's agent told Match TV what injuries the hockey player sustained during the playoffs

"Livo had a concussion, there's no point in hiding it, many knew it, and he also had an eye infection that prevented Joshua from seeing well. And in the fourth game of the series with Lokomotiv, Livo suffered a knee injury."

Salavat was eliminated in the semifinals, losing the series to Lokomotiv 1:4. The Canadian missed three out of five games.

Traktor lost 10 first periods out of 16 with 4-21 puck difference. Somehow they found their way into final even without a single seven games serie.

@CostaRica if I try to quote your post it gives me a blank text box, hence pinging you instead.

Apparently Mikhael Sergachev was in attendance at the game, showing his support for Utah prospects Dimitri Simashev and Daniil But. Simashev signed his ELC with Utah almost immediately after the game, which makes me wonder if a team representative was at the game with a contract ready to go, and accosted him in the dressing room after the game to get him to sign it.

🏒 Lokomotiv defenseman Simashev told Match TV that he will play in the NHL for Utah next season

🎙 Now can you say directly that you are leaving for Utah?

"Now I can say with peace of mind - yes, I am leaving for the NHL."

🎙 A new world will open up for you.

"Well, let's see what's there!"

Dmitry was selected by Utah in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft under the 6th overall pick.

I'm very pleased that Lokomotiv won the Gagarin Cup for so many reasons.

They have one of the most successful hockey schools and won the Cup with mostly homegrown players (against another elite hockey development program). Yaroslavl has been a production line of great players for many years, but they only won RSL championship when its prestige was at its lowest - still a great accomplishment, but Gagarin Cup is much cooler. Now the only thing that is missing is that flagship superstar that will be the face of the city and their hockey school.
Obviously, it's especially heartwarming to see them winning the Cup after the 2011 tragedy.
And I'm particularly pleased as a Lokomotiv Moscow supporter
