Ostsee
I doubt it can be commercially viable given that the major basketball teams already operate modern indoor arenas in that segment on both sides of the city.

Just a quick update, any non-Russian club wanting to join the KHL will not need an approval from its national hockey federation anymore. It will be just on agreement between the KHL & the club. It is the result of latest decisions made by IIHF Council & Congress.

Just update

From now on the league will not require "National Federation’s permission on participation of Foreign Club in KHL."

I can't imagine a team in Belgrade has much prospect of success.

Do you know why this guy left Avangard?

He wanted to join another project. He was connected to Dubai, he brought KHL to Dubai at Coca-Cola Arena. Henke met Zuchra that day o_O

Do you follow Košarka? Do you know the Dubai basketball team plays the same league with KK Crvena Zvezda? Their home field is the same Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. KK Crvena Zvezda plays at good enough Belgrade Arena. What have both venues in common? They are not suited for hockey ...

Do you want Novak to meet Zuchra in Belgrade?

Hoping Jelena would be OK with that ...

Clubs outside of Russias motivation for joing would be what? "We want to increase the clubs travel costs while earning less or the same revenue we do now!"

After the Olympics in 2026 I can see Milano getting a team to compete in KHL with another team coming out of Japan

No western country will be joining the KHL any time soon. The only prospect of foreign expansion is getting Kunlun back to China, a team in Belgrade, or maybe Humo Tashkent from Uzbekistan making the step up.
