Kevyn Adams GM thread

Kevyn Adams drafting is also trash.

Toronto is drafting Knies while Buffalo is drafting Kisakov and Leinonen in the 2nd round.

Kisakov can't even break the AHL lineup.

What a trainwreck this clown has been.
Poltapov looks good, strbak, wahlberg as well

He reminds me of a Commissioner we had a while back.

The Commish wasn’t remotely qualified for the job and was very much in over his head. But he had the connections to get the position. Since he really had no idea what he was doing. The only way he felt he could justify keeping his job was to send money back to the City’s general fund from whatever was budgeted for the BFD.

Let’s say our budget was 60mil for a fiscal year. He’d pinch pennies and cut things so he only spent 57mil of it and “returned” 3mil to the general fund to “look good”. Nevermind that the budget wasn’t enough for the departments needs to begin with and was given to the BFD to actually run the department. The end result of this was, by the end of his years long tenure as Commish, our fleet of vehicles and gear/equipment were in shambles. We still haven’t recovered.

That's horrifyingly relatable.

It's funny because Karmanos in another situation would be fine with me as an interviewee and possible hire. He's done excellent work IMO with the feeder teams. I have two of the guys from the Leafs in mind for similar reasons.

But it's the latest in what would be another nepo hire that rankles. It's up there with Regier's "Exhaustive search" where he interviewed no one and went with Rolston, going from interim to permanent HC (which also probably sealed Regier's fate). It's Lindy in a way - recycling something that's about what is already here. Or all of the former players hired like Ellis and yes Adams going from the Jr. Sabres up to the big club like that's actually a good thing.

Karmanos comes in with all the organizational biases and preconditions that we do not need/want.

It is likely something Adams and Pegula are comfortable with to continue their vision. Their little cabinet of preferred managers they have been molding will all be left in place: Crowe, Forton, Jakubowski, Appert, Ellis, Nightingale, Ruff, among others.

We need someone to come in from the outside, who is experienced and credible. They need to look and say "oh wow, I heard about this, but you actually do have a Buffalo State assistant running a bare bones pro scouting department, maybe we need to change that". Or "why are you wasting time and resources grooming an average NCAA coach into an average AHL coach into your NHL coach of the future? Maybe we should let him go take that Fredonia job and get serious coaches who can help these players and worry about hiring NHL coaches when that time comes like every other NHL team throughout history?"

Yep, they need new blood and not newb blood in that position. Experience is a must.

If we're going with the "Kevyn keeps failing upward" plan (which, **** that garbage), I'd rather take Jarmo or another outside hire instead of going with another moron who's only here because they're cheap, inexperienced, and probably bad at their job
Kevyn and Pegula can't control Jarmo the way they can control Karmanos.
