Kevyn Adams GM thread

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I didn't hear him say that. Is there some other video than the part in the tweet?

*toddles off to YT to check the Sabres inbreeded, err imbedded.
????

Pegula didn't say that at all in the clip that's posted. He was supporting Kevyn's apparent position that they should re-sign Zucker.

That said, let's see what the full video shows (while knowing it's highly edited)
Beerz is saying that no one WOULD feel comfortable to speak up against Zucker with Terry there already voicing his opinion on wanting to keep zuck.

The sequence in the edited version was Lindy saying Zucker exceeded expectations and No One thought he would have the year he had production wise. They then go to a call where Terry says he wants to be here he is role model blah blah. I think Lindy knew it would be published and was couching his words to say that if you extend him you are not likely to see similar numbers going forward. Terry being in a roster decision conference with a bunch of amateur scouts is also disturbing.

No.. I am saying... if in fact someone had the opinion that they should go in another direction on Zucker (or anybody just using Zucker in this example) ... How would they feel safe in doing so when the owner is in on this conversation and has made his wishes known.

Possibly. Though I do wonder if Pegs is in on the entire conversation or if he's just parroting back what the pros of it were from what Adams says earlier in that clip?

That’s what I took from it. He can’t just say “approval granted.” He needs to say something else too, so he just parroted/summarized what everyone else already said.

It sure didn’t sound like a guy with a strong opinion, who was striking fear into any possible dissenters. It sounded like he could’ve been playing minesweeper while he was on the call, half paying attention to begin with.

My only real problem with Terry is still mainly his latest choice of GM, and his decision to be so cheap with everything. His level of engagement is fine.

Anyway, pretty impressive for Karmanos to show up in person. He must’ve known the cameras would be there.

Thread:

Looks like he follows Lance and Harrington as well. Only journalists he follows outside of CBJ.

I'm not the biggest Jarmo fan, but he sure as heck would be a big upgrade over KA. I wouldn't mind him as a POHO either, if by some miracle we went that route.

His drafting was quite good if you want to give him credit for it. Columbus fired him just before his team was about to pay off.

Also missed the playoffs the last 4 seasons. I guess it depends on what side of the fence you sit on.

I am not a fan on Jarmo either. Not interested in a GM who missed the playoffs 4 straight seasons before getting fired.

I "think" it has more to do with that glass in the middle there, but...??
I am not sure what you are talking about but if I am with someone I pick seats that accommodate us both.

And if I want space then sit in the same row but one empty seat between us. Isn't that standard operating procedure?

Jarmo would be very solid pickup, what the Sabres need right now, if Terry isn't going to hire an experienced POHO, I'd easily go with Jarmo as GM than have to look for another Botterill/Murray again and Terry will do that.

But even given the best spin it is still bad. Terry if anything (and I don’t think he should be in a meeting on this subject matter) should simply getting options. “Thanks Kevyn, Lindy I appreciate your input. Anyone else have anything to add? Ok. What are the options out there? Does spending $ on a mid lineup guy make more sense than adding to his price and getting someone who can play higher up the lineup? Opinions? Thank you all. Kevyn after consulting with the team let me know your recommendations.” Being heard and actively cheerleading your handpicked lackey. Are two very different things.

Not saying it's good or bad. We weren't in there, we don't know how it's edited. He could've been in there talking up Zucker for non-hockey reasons and making in mandatory. He might have been sleeping. We don't know.

All we do know is that whatever he does has sucked.

Adams,:"I didn't want to overreact"

You are on a god damn 13 game losing streak and you dont want to overreact by calling up players or a trade???

Get this clown out of here.

And you also need to hold him to the previous failed season of inaction (which may have been saved with a coaching change in november).
And all the inaction before that, adding Clifton and johnson.. or the previous deadline when they had a sniff of the playoffs and he/they did nothing.

How can anyone take them seriously?

I'm becoming an old man and I have almost forgot how a playoff run feels. We have a bunch of amateurs making mistakes, failing, and trying to learn on the job. Enough is enough

He said he wasn’t going to overreact at that disaster presser 5 games into the losing streak. And dammit…he spent the next 8 games proving that!

So to put it this way. 1/6 of the season was spent on a losing streak and Adams did nothing because he didn't want to overreact.

At what point does Adams decide to make changes and overreact? 14 game losing streak? 15 game losing streak? 1/4 of the season lost?

He is such a clown.

When daddy tells him to

Remember…Terry told them not to expect trades just after the presser. The answer is in the room. They lost 6-1 that night and lost the next half dozen too.

You have to know if you lose 13 games in a row you aren't going to make the playoffs.

I think they were 2 games above .500 at the time. So he just sat there and watched the playoffs fade away.

If this guy is still here after the season ends I am going to burn my sabres jerseys. I dont want the stink in my house.
