Dahlin deserves to stay right here and help right this ship. He's been given everything he's wanted contractually. He's a core part of the solution and this idea of gifting him a trade to a non-dysfunctional organization is pure self-loathing Sabres fandom and it needs to stop.
I just have zero hope that Adams and Pegula can fix this. Dahlin will only help extending the era of pain.

Obviously the best thing would be for the team to have success but since Pegula won't do anything we need a more nuclear incident before things can change.

Going nuclear doesn't feel like it will fix anything. Everytime we have done it, there is a sense of " finally, this will shake it up" and it never does.

Team is pretty healthy, it's time to start scratching key players and taking ice time away. Montreal is the litmus test, don't perform, cool. If you perform, that is the standard. Work it out from there.

If you have watched these last 7 games without Dahlin and you think trading him is going to turn out good for the Sabres, just lol.

I would trade any player on the team but Dahlin

Chad heard the same...

At what point does the league step in and force something? The incompetence isn’t just obvious, it’s smacking everyone in the face! And it’s a complete stain on the league as a whole honestly.

If I were in charge of the league, I’d strongly consider forcing an experienced president of hockey ops to be hired and not Terry f***ing Pegula, who can’t even speak to fans without sounding like an uneducated buffoon. Not to mention hiring someone who isn’t a completely inexperienced, unproven GM, who was hired by said buffoon, to dig a franchise (located in a place without palm trees) out from the most pathetic state any franchise has ever been in in the history of sports!!!

*Breath out*

I've thought about this, and I think there is only one thing to say:

Seems kind of soft to me canceling practice after this mornings feelings session. Seravalli reporting Adams called today a "fresh start" and said what happened in the past no longer matters. How does that square with the accountability staff have been preaching though?

Canceling practice for a feelings round table after a 10 game losing streak feels like the same kind of mentality that got us the losing streak. Would like to see the Sabres beat reporters troll the next press conference by only asking questions about Martone, Hagens, and Misa.

My prediction: in the next month or so pegula moves Adams to another position within his hockey business, moves Lindy into a hockey ops role

Lindy then hires a new gm and then hire a new coach this off season

Basically what should have happened what 15 years ago when terry first bought the team (reiger to some VP/hockey position, Lindy to GM/hockey ops position, new coach)

Glad it only took nearly 15 years to get here!

Why not just hire a new GM now? I think TDL can be an important trading point for some of our players and their value, And maybe the new GM will need some time to figure this out.

I mean I would hope pegula is deferring to ruff on everything at this point

So if ruff likes someone and they are available by all means please hire him today

Oh, I don't know, I hope Ruff doesn't just hire some idiot he knows. That's what I'm afraid of, in theory it should definitely be an experienced guy, but experienced doesn't always mean good, there are a lot of dubious guys on my list of all potential GMs.

Isn't the value of the franchise going up and he's not making money from the NFL and his business?
The Buffalo Bills make a lot of money. From the NFL’s TV deals alone they got 400mil in revenue last season. Their current payroll I believe is 250-260mil. Obviously there are other revenue streams. NFL teams basically print money.

The money involved with the NFL dwarfs that of the NHL, especially TV money. It’s been amazing to see Sabres fans in North America, who should know better, assert the Sabres are somehow helping pay for anything with the Bills. It’s a laughable suggestion. I get European fans not getting that though.
So maybe he should just hire the right people to run the franchise and not interfere so he can stop losing money. It would be nice if someone could get this idea into his head.
Completely agree. Thats the heart of the problem. Pegula has consistently hired guys who haven’t been good at running a hockey team. We need the Sabres to get lucky like the Bills did.

Yeah, sorry, I don't understand around NFL and all this financial stuff at all. Although I know some guys who watch Bills games and root for the team.

That is a very concise and polite reply Josh and if I take out my frustrations on you I apologize. Happy Holidays.
No problem. I get the frustration. I’ve moved on to the point of just being checked out. I haven’t watched a game in weeks. I’ll check in from time to time on the NHL app during a game. But thats about it.

Terry flew in to Montreal just to say “everything is fine and a move isn’t being made”?? Why is Terry announcing updates about roster construction? Shouldn’t that be the GM’s job to determine if a big trade is happening or not?

I ask these questions sarcastically because I already know the answers. This organization is a clown show and it’s sad because this isn’t the Sabres team I grew up watching and I’m not sure if they’re ever coming back at this point.
