We’ve been saving cap space for three years (the next part is a lie a fool sold to idiots) because we needed it for future extensions that he hasn’t been ain any hurry to give out…and oh yeah…like everyone knew the cap is going to jump way up.

An entire lie anyone with a brain could see through predicated on keeping a losing lineup together longer.

The last three seasons have been The. Worst. Job. A GM has EVER done in this league.

There cannot be a year six.

You’d cut him off halfway through his ten year plan for the playoffs?

The words “not going to stop trying” are doing a lot of work in this quote when you look at his five years of efforts to improve the team. I’d like him to stop trying. I’d like to give someone else a try at the trying. I’d rather whoever took his place operating the hot dog cart outside of HarborCenter take a try at the trying.

He has said this for years. Same schtick as last year.

I remember last year wasnt he out riding a bike on trade deadline day? He said don't worry he is always working.

He needs to go.

At this point a real move would be the first true sign anyone there might actually face the consequences of their shitty work. Which I would gladly lose a trade to believe. I need to have hope again.

2024 Draft
“I've told every team in the league that we are wide open to considering moving Pick 11,” Adams said. “We're wide open to consider anything, to be honest with you – (trading) prospects, if we think it's going to help our team. We're having those conversations right now.

“So, all of that's on the table. And these conversations have been going on for a few weeks. They'll certainly pick up steam here in the next week as we get closer to Vegas.”

2024 Trade Deadline

"We're Disappointed With Where We Are" | Kevyn Adams After Trade Deadline

"Then you have the opportunity to make trades with draft picks and prospects and I’ve made it very clear with people in the league that we’re open to that.

2022 Trade Deadline
Buffalo were always expected to be sellers as we play out yet another season with no postseason hockey on the horizon, but there were no cap-relief type of deals either as the Sabres refused to take on salary from cap-strapped teams.

2022 Trade deadline
Speaking after the deadline, the GM indicated that he was quite happy with how the young roster is starting to come together and gelling into some kind of positive form while developing a culture – when was the last time Buffalo was over even .300 in March?

2024 Trade deadline
“I’ve said from the beginning that we need people that want to be here, and we’ve had enough time to start to build this the right way,” Adams told the group. “So, I get excited. I think we’re in a great spot.”

Its all bullshit.

People that want to be here is a priority over winning.

I hope the next guy leads off with “I want players who want to be in the playoffs”

This front office shouldn't give a crap about "losing a trade." As long as you're not trading, like, Dahlin for Scott Laughton, you should do *whatever it takes* it to improve the roster right now.

Is he still here? Is he still trying to make a deal? Season five for this genius who has no clue how to build a playoff team. He's stuck in a perpetual development season for his kids.

What are the odds Pegula brings in an even more unqualified GM to replace Adams? Pretty f***ing high with this clown’s track record.

The rot starts — always started — at the top. And that ain’t going away.

Don’t get me wrong, Adams is well past his expiration date. I really thought he was a goner alongside Granato. I don’t even know how he saved his ass — probably by selling the Idiot King on Ruff being the missing piece.

But in spite of his many flaws, I honestly fear what replaces him more. Another two-bit amateur with a rebuild plan? I can’t do this again.

I despise the Pegulas with every fiber of my being.

Adams gets kicked to President

You have 3 Assistant gm's to choose from, the next ass kisser could be the brother in law, even though he is the least qualified for gm.

Owner will feel he's been burned by the nhl in the past (Lala, Murray, Botts) and not trust a outside pick despite many recent competent examples in Vancouver and elsewhere.

Don't even mention Ruff, I'm sure he is planning the fishing in Wyoming years right about now and who can blame him.

It's depressing to think that, given Terry's hiring record, Adams' replacement could very likely be worse.

If you fire Adams now, you might as well just skip the GM search and give Karmanos and Ventura the reigns and see how that works out. We don't need Pegula rushing to find a new GM. Because Terry maybe can't find a GM better than Adams, and maybe even worse. If Karmanos and Ventura don't work out, you hire an experienced POHO (advisor) in the spring-summer who will conduct a thorough search for a GM and make a plan.

Owner will feel he's been burned by the nhl in the past (Lala, Murray, Botts) and not trust a outside pick despite many competent examples in Vancouver and elsewhere.
Then hire an experienced POHO or at least an advisor who will find you a GM. What the hell is Adams going to do as president? Is he going to find a new GM or influence hockey decisions (not trading my boys and need more draft picks)?

Will fix everything
Karmanos and Ventura each get a promotion. You're not getting some extensive search.

It may actually work out - at least Karmanos has extensive experience in the league.

Bring in someone who has done this before as a team president and let him bring in a few guys to do a top to bottom evaluation.

Karmanos isn't the answer. Being a part of the front office isnt the same as being the guy in charge.

Is his experience better than Adams? Yes. At this point, given how things are going, would I hire Karmanos to take over? No.

We've gone the former AGM route before. We need someone who can just take over the entire front office and reshape it.

I agree, we just need to act now and we don't want Terry rushing into finding a GM himself. We need an experienced POHO or at least an advisor (if Terry doesn't want to appoint a POHO) who can evaluate all of this and look into finding a GM.

But I'm scared that Pegula might appoint Adams to the POHO position.
