Those two packages are pretty much what the reported asking price for Spezza was. We could get him without giving up Shattenkirk. I'm not burning my best trade chip on a 30+ center who has defensive issues and is injury prone. Not to mention his contract status.

If that gets it done, I'm in. Hopefully Miller walks and we have an extra pick in play :naughty:

There is just not much out there (at least not yet anyway), but it's obvious that we need to make a move. Statsny just needs to decide he wants to come play here instead of being in a log jam. Win-win for both of us, but the better the Avs play, the more unlikely that seems.

Berglund is what he is at this point. People expecting him to all of the sudden explode are going to be disappointed. He's a quality third liner at this point, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Yeah I agree with having to give up a big piece to get one. I'm not even that sure Jaskin has a ton of trade value right now. It's not a great time to trade him. As much as I hate to say it, it would probably be selling pretty low to move Berglund right now too. I'd be perfectly fine with putting Rattie on the table if it meant going for a hyped center prospect.

I'd just prefer to do it while moving wingers instead of one of our top-3 D. Oshie would put a lot of value towards getting a center, though I know trading him would feel like a dagger to the heart for a lot of fans. He's just not doing it in the playoffs and may be falling off our top line anyway. I'd rather trade him than Shattenkirk. Shattenkirk means a lot to our offense.

Wow! Totally disagree!
