Value of: Kevin Korchinski

Nah they are still busts especially considering draft position and from a value standpoint you don’t pick a player at the top 10 hoping they top out at a 4th liner.

Also @the Beard is a big boy I’m sure he can fight his own arguments and not rely on a heroic knight to save the princess in an online argument
Lol not sure how Drouin, Ryan Strome and Zacha are 4th liners but ok.... LOL. Atleast be accurate if you're gonna make a point with that much conviction, then act like a baby when it's pointed out how wrong you are. If you're gonna have zero sense of humor on a hockey message board, atleast do your research and make sure what your saying is actually accurate, so people like me don't come in here and make you look stupid..... none of the top 10 players from those drafts are busts. Nor are any of them 4th liners..... LOL.

Apparently i'm a knight in shining armor... thank you :)

Korchinski had a rough start to the year, but definitely put it together at the AHL level prior to his most recent callup. 6 points, +9 in his last 9 games down there. Still only 20 years old. Hawks probably won't trade him because they wouldn't get the value they used a pick on him for, and he's not a sunk cost to just accept something crummy. Defense is logjammed but that's fine, just figure out who is good, which should produce something really good down the line if they manage the assets OK, and hopefully keep drafting forwards to get another guy with top line capability.

What an idiotic decision it was to rush Korchinski to the NHL at 19

Could still turn into a top 4 D but the stagnation in his development is a self-imposed mistake by the Hawks
they learned from that decision by sending him and levshunov right to rockford for the majority of this season, but yes it was a very dumb decision on their part

Schaefer and Misa are almost on par with each other at the top of the draft, with Hagens and Martone right there too. Sharks will almost certainly take Schaefer if they have the option since their prospect pool is stacked with offensive forwards already. If Chicago picks ahead of them they should definitely take Misa IMO. As good as Schaefer is, Levshunov already looks legitimate and Korchinski isn't returning a prospect like Misa.

I know rule of thumb is draft BPA, but when they are that close take what your team needs most. Only scenario where Chicago might take Schaefer is if a 3rd team wins #1 and takes Misa and then Chicago wins #2.
no it's clearly Schaefer by all accounts
