Value of: Kevin Korchinski

Hawks have a lot of defensemen in the pipeline and could potentially add Matthew Schaefer this draft. Would be looking for a forward with top 6 upside of similar age/draft pedigree. Who are some players/teams that would make the most sense for a trade?
Very similar to back before the dynasty…

They had Keith, Seabrook, Byfuglien, Hjalmarsson, Wisniewski, Barker, Hendry, Sopel, big money Campbell…

The guy who was an AHL player until 22 and has a 3.10 and .896. Theres no way a young guy can get better. Ceiling maxed at 20.
Hey. I wish you luck. And clearly because of this thread there’s so much excitement for his future otherwise why even make it?

check the 1st post of the thread lol

We have a TON of NHL defenseman that are 23 and under. We need more forwards. Korchinski would be a guy that can get us a high quality forward. Same with Rinzel who is also 20.....

I would guess they arnt trading Levshunov (2nd overall) or Vlasic (future captain?).

If he was a righty then maybe.

What I love about your rebuild is it’s in year like 5 and out of the top six scorers only one is under 28 (would have been 6 of 7 if they didn’t trade Seth Jones).
The rebuild started in 2022. Before that, we had a retool where we pissed away assets for Seth Jones in an attempt to make the playoffs again. Failed miserable at that.

Hawks rebuild is strongest on the backend and weakest up front. Hence this thread asking about Korchinski's value. D take time, so hardly surprising there aren't many young guys near the top in the team's scoring.

The seth jones/Fleury acquisitions in a foolish attempt to give Kane one more kick at it set the franchise back years.

Seattle would be interested in Korchinski if we think he could be a good two way guy. Not familiar enough with him in the AHL to say that. I know he was mostly an offensive guy in the past though. Could definitely send a forward for him off the prospect list.
