Its pretty obvious the habs need center help now and for the future. Kevin Hayes is that perfect second line center for the habs and could play there for the next decade.
Trade would have to happen after Zibanejad comes back. Its a win win for each team. Habs get a top six center Rangers get a top RHD. Also, i think Girardi would benefit playing in a more defensive system in a smaller role.

Hayes and Girardi for Petry.

Seeing that Gally and DD are both out week to week, it will take Montreal to do us a favour without us having to overpay. No reason for us to help Montreal.

HELP HELP HELP
As much as I like Kevin Hayes, his on ice shooting isn't gonna stay at 16% forever, nor will his personal shooting be able to hold at 23%. Considering this, I'd expect his production going forward to be about half of what it has been through the first 27 games.

I'm not interested in creating a permanent hole at right side D for what would be a failed attempt to solve a temporary C issue. Dan Girardi, his sub-replacement level play, and his 5.5M caphit is the spoiled cherry on top of this dog **** chocolate sundae

Hard no from a Habs point of view

It's creative, I'll give you that. But I think both teams flinch - Montreal at the prospect of trying to get anything valuable out of Girardi, and New York at spending that high a price to get rid of him (even if they're getting Petry back).

I'd argue that the value is in the Rangers' favor, but that's probably not going to make it any more palatable.

How can you say the value "may" be in the Rangers favour? You guys are getting rid of that dumpster fire Girardi while getting a top 3 RHD for Kevin bloody Hayes.. :help:

The only way Bergevin flinches is when his blood clot sticks onto his carotid artery

I'd say no easily on Hayes for Petry, so I would let you guess what is the answer when you add Girardi.

Why are you saying "you guys"? I'm a Jackets and Preds fan. I ****ing hate the Rangers. I just don't think they want to give up Hayes, period.

There's saying the Rags like Hayes and then there's defending that proposal. The Jackets might like Atkinson, would that make them refuse a deal of Atkinson + Clarkson for a #2-3 Dman signed long term at a good rate?

Habs dont trade rads at that contract for McD. Ez pass imo. Rads is the real deal.
