Value of: Kevin Fiala to the Sens

I'm a Sens fan and quite honestly I don't think they have the spare assets to target a player like Fiala. Obviously he's underperforming a bit but realistically who is on the trade block from Ottawa's standpoint? Yakemchuk is untouchable, the 1st is untouchable (since we won't have one next year) and we have almost no attractive assets other than the core players we need to keep (Stu, Brady, Batherson, Pinto, Sanderson).

I see nothing appealing to LA and I see nothing from the Sens perspective that we can realistically part with.

Fiala would be nice, but is probably overkill.

I had a list going of targets I'd have. Fiala wasn't on it but here's a few (in no order):
Vatrano (signed)
Farabee (traded)
McCann
Bunting
Rakell
Zucker

I'd look into these guys before I made a call on Fiala, personally.

Kings fans have been relentlessly complaining about Fiala all year. With his cap hit I think he might not be very costly to acquire. At the same time though, he's a turnover machine, the exact opposite type of direction the Sens want to go in.

I'd throw a name out there that I think better fits what the Sens are trying to do - and that's the forechecking machine Oliver Bjorkstrand. Look for him to get moved for a first +, or the Sens 1st since it will be more middle of the pack. I know thats the Sens only future asset (aside from the untouchable Yak) but I don't see any other way for them to upgrade, and I think they should commit to winning now.

Fiala has a no movement clause with an 10 team no trade list and an 8 million dollar a year salary. Can you see Fiala waiving that clause to play in Ottawa?

Think he is stuck in L.A trying to be a square peg getting stuffed into a round hole.

Here's hopign Seattle would accept a conditional 2026 1st.
