Miller last game:
21 minutes ice time more than any d man after chara
Plus 1 with an assist
3 blocked shots more than any d man
3 hits more than any d man

He also leads all bruins with hits (top 10 dman in the league) and blocked shots. Maybe not top offensive numbers but top tough to play against defender YES.

I'm in favour of playing Morrow and Colin Miller however does this look like a dude that will be taken out of the line up soon? I still say K Miller will be traded however believe it or not he's playing well and the bruins (not just Claude) like his hard nose play. It's not that easy folk.

Well, if K.Miller has more blocked shots and more hits it maybe because when he's on the ice we never have the puck. You don't need to do any of those things when you have the puck.

I was looking at advanced stats and McQuaid looks like the bottom D for us. But K. Miller is still redundant and I hope for a trade so we dont have 4 or 5 stay at home types playing because it kills transition.

I totally agree with this however I'm just highlighting that he's very effective as a stay at home D and if continues to do those other "not so exciting" things and the team continues to win it will be very hard for the bruins to sit him in favour of the Morrows.

The problem is the amount of huge mistakes he makes and leads to goals against.

Then explain his plus minus

This is why plus minus shouldn't be looked at too much.

He just had 2 brutal plays against Colorado and lost us the game, he's been terrible on the pk, the Capital pk goal from him was pathetic, he was on ice for 4 goals against against Dallas, in 2 he missed the block and screened Rask, against Philly the same thing, he was also against 2 pk goals against against Montreal in which he lost his men.

In 4 games we allowed 7 pk goals, he was on ice for 6 of them.

But you don't see those pk mistakes on plus minus, and he plays with Chara a lot and Rask hasn't allowed a 5on5 goal on 4 of his last 7 starts.
He's been our worst D-player since Irwin.
He doesn't make up for those mistakes, if he could make a pass especially in the offensive zone it would help a lot.

Julien on having 8 healthy D: "we shouldn’t make too much of a deal of who’s in
who’s out more than they’re all going to play at some point"

This is what I have been telling you guys .

Give up . Kevan has with out a doubt had some real rough games but when people cant admit he played really well like last game , they have 0 interest in him playing well and wont be able to see it.

So, the guy has one OK game (I didn't think he was anything special) and we are all supposed to swoon over him?

He's a 6th-7th D and there is no reason why the guy should be the 3rd leading TOI D for the Bruins, none, and yet he is.

Don't see it.

You want to play him 3rd pair with Morrow, and limit his TOI and exposure to Top 6 players, fine. However, he is incredibly miscast in his role with the B's and the only one who appears not to notice this is Clode.

Miller has had some serious brain cramps and looked like dog poo on the PK, and guess what type of goals don't count towards +/-?...

Again Julien thinks he is the second best defenseman to kill penalties with Seids not 100 percent. You guys think he the worst . I am sure Sweeney isn't with you or something would be done. We aren't talking about Gagne playing fourth line minutes here. Just so I am clear is there any defenseman of our eight you would put K miller on the penalty kill over ??????????????????????????????

I don't really dispute he is a 5 or 6 but we have no guys that resemble a top 4 except a undersized Krug who isn't a 3 or 4 on the defensive side.

Until Seidenberg returns to health (hopefully), I'd say Kevan Miller ranks third in the hierarchy of guys who I'd put on the PK, behind Chara and McQuaid. He blocks shots, he's physical in front of the net and he doesn't try to do too much.

I do think it's funny though how much time we now spend debating the ice time of guys who should be slam dunk 3rd pairing defensemen (excluding Colin Miller of course...he's headed for a Norris trophy).

I kind of agree with you . I hate arguing about it. I can see anyone but chara, seids and krug getting scratched and I wont be upset. They all have their strengths and weaknesses but end result none are top 3 or 4 defenseman long term with the exception of Colin who I think has a ceiling of 3 or 4 and is nowhere near that yet. Young defenseman take time when they are headed for a 1 or 2 let alone what we have. I wish we could just relax and cheer for all of them . I sometimes have my players I like or dislike so I guess I get that . In this case I am coming off like a huge K.miller fan and I am not lol. I just don't see how he is so lousy and we are holding back a stable of superstars. The reality is scratching them helps them sometimes like I think it did Trotman.

I think Miller is already about a #4 dman. He makes some mistakes in his own end but the rest of his game is solid. Makes 2-3 zone passes better than anyone in our lineup and has the best vision of our defensemen. If our management was willing to cede what we know, which is that this team isn't very good, we could give him even more ice time and let him learn the PK and get more PP minutes. But alas.

I am probably am not as surprised as most he scratched Colin although I probably wouldn't have. Claude saw a great defensive win against Detroit and wanted to give it another go. Just for the record I thought trotman followed up a great game Saturday with a good first period tonight. I cant defend that period from Kevan he easily made the most mistakes on D followed by Chara the rest were ok.

I like what I see in Colin but I am not convinced as most on here that he is as far long as they think in his own end.

Maybe not, but they're not winning a cup with the likes of KM or Trotman out there, so why not play CM and Morrow 20 minutes a night for a month and see where they are at.

Miller does not have nearly the hockey sense needed to be considered a #4
