Kempe pretty easily for me. He's bigger, stronger, faster...better shooter at this point probably. Also cheaper, and will be next year too.
Boeser is maybe the better passer/facilitator. But i don't think he's a true "play driver" offensively in that sense and a lot weaker in transition. So not nearly enough there to outweigh what Kempe brings to the table in other aspects.
Interesting question. Kempe is everything I want boeser to be. But at the same time boeser has that innate ability to finish from all areas.
If boeser could skate like Kempe or if Kempe could finish like boeser everyone would be so happy.
Not to mention the Nucks have more forward depth than the Kings meaning teams are more likely to double team Kempe. Kempe instead of Boeser on the Nucks would actually be scary, whereas Boeser on the Kings would make them even worse offensively.Yeah not trying to hate on Boeser but when not scoring Kempe brings a LOT more to the game and is cheaper...and the biggest ability, availability. He's an outstanding two-way player who is the no-brainer next C after Kopitar. I think it's Kempe, not by a mile or anything, but clearly. But I think we've all been robbed of a fully-healthy Boeser for big chunks of his career.
Kempe has seasons of 41, 35 goals and is on pace for 44 this season. Boeser has seasons of 40, 29 and is on pace for 32 this year. And this is on a low-scoring Kings team.
I think my instinct was also to call Boeser a better 'sniper' and playmaker as nebulous as those terms may be but Kempe can most certainly finish like Boeser in the results.
